Looking at X5M 2015/16?! Any insights!?

Getting close to my M5 lease end early next year and already getting close to allowed miles limit in a few months so I actually might lease or buy another car while I still have this M5 and nothing seems to interest me especially with NC winters all the more brutal as of late and I am getting sick of traction issues with M5 and bogging down frequently killing all the fun for me at times!
I enjoyed this car so much and still do but I will probably come back to it when AWD and yes I know RWD can be more fun with the happy fish tail and all but for pragmatically for a daily driver and bad winters looking ahead with Sports tires and my only car simply not the perfect package and somehow the X5M might solve this problem!!

Any comments ?!
I have never driven X5M but had X5 50i twice and I enjoyed the AWD Rush !!
Other alternatives
1. RS7 (Hate rear looks)
2. Panamera Turbo S (Getting too stale)
3. E63 S AMG
4. I have even entertained Audi Q7 2017 LOL a V8 Twinturbo for these is overdue !! What's the equivalent to X5 50i that Audi has to offer?!!!
5. Cayenne Turbo S?!
I am going nutzzz
Looks like i may as well end up with another more equipped M5 F10 with Performance Exhaust and all the bells and whistles

When I dynod my car, there was an x5m there too. It put down less power than the M5 probably due to the drivetrain loss. The x5m is a good contender but you will be loosing some handling due to the added weight. Maybe check out the x6m. It shoukd be more sportier than the x5m

E63s

I'd at least drive the E63s. Great handler, AWD and very, very fast. Transmission is fine. Get it in wagon form and you have the ultimate sleeper.

I just tested one last week. It drove very similar to my M5 (owned a '13 but flipped it for my M6). I couldn't believe how well it handled. The only obvious difference is that you are higher up off ground since it's a SUV. Or is that SAV? Lol.

It was only a quick test drive on streets and parkways but you could tell it was a monster and the shifts were flawless. It impressed me enough that I decided it will be the next M for me due to livin in the NE and next whip should be 4w.

At least that's my current thinking. Ha

X5m are good but will only give you 680whp. Then drivetrain malfunction when you cross that power level. Owner got pure turbos and jb on top lasted a good 7seconds on track and blew the motor. Lol. Shouldve listen to precision tuning. They told him x5m are not meant to make power due to xdrive function.

But a simple tune should be fine and plenty for the car. Its a fun car. Id go with X5M

I never tune my cars because Inrarely keep them long enough to justify the investment !
X5M seems to garner a lot of attention as of late with its new interior accoutrements!!

The renntech posted numbers are not true actually.
If you dyno them they actually gain like 30-50whp only. Lol

Sooma - you haven't had that blue M5 that long. If I was you I would hold it for another year, and in the meantime order the 2018 E63S. The 2018 version will have HUD, a 9 speed DCT and lots of other goodies - plus it will have traction.

I am going to get either an E43 or E63 for my wife to replace her C300 as soon as released. Already put a deposit at dealer to be first in line.

I had an E70 x5m and I plan to get another one soon. If you like having an SUV, then this is the SUV to get. I tried every possible SUV before I got my x5m and the x5m was the best (tried RR Supercharged, Porsche Cayenne GTS and MB ML63 AMG). If you need or want AWD, you will like the x5m. It is a very different car than the m5, but I enjoyed mine while I had it. When my m4 goes away, I plan to get into a 2017 or 2018 x5m or x6m.

Soooma - I have both the M5 and X5M. I didn't think the X5M would be fun to drive and that the interior would be blah...fast forward...I absolutely love it! My M5 is azurite black on black, so I went the total opposite with the X5M - mineral white, mugello red interior and carbon fiber trim...so damn sexy! Everyone that has been inside the X5M has said, "This shit is hot!"

Yes, you definitely get a different feel from the AWD but they did a really good job with the ZF transmission and it shifts really well. Also, sitting up high means that it will not handle like your M5 or any other sports sedan/coupe that's lower to the ground. However, the space and practicality make up for the other things to me b/c I don't track my cars. Bottom line: there seems to be people on this site that want/like sports cars that you can track or drive like track cars. If that's you, then the X5M is not for you. If you like fast, nimble, luxurious and comfortable cars/SUVs and are indifferent about tracking it, then go test drive the X5M and be prepared to order one afterwards. If you're ever in the DFW area, give me a shout and you can see for yourself.

Terrific post bro
Thank you
You got me more excited about X5M
My wife has an Audi Q7 and that's my only problem with having another SAV/SUV

And I am really interested in M6 convertible too!
I am sure a pleasure to slice roads in it!!

I've driven the X5M and, as has been mentioned, it's great. But its different. For your needs, not in a bad way.
I have owned two Porsche Cayenne Turbo S's. Don't know if they currently make a Turbo S these days or just a Turbo, but you should drive one of those as well.
