Interesting. Next time you speak to him/her, can you ask who's covering it - your dealer or BMW? Thanks.

Also on timing, I spoke to my CA earlier and he was told by the service manager (who spoke to BMW this morning) that replacement pumps would be available "within 2 weeks". Who knows for sure which estimate is correct?

Who is taking care of your next month payment, BMW or the dealer?

Have them cut you a check directly vs them making the payment. They don't lose if the payment isn't made on time

I got an email from BMW NA today and called them back.

The guy I spoke to said to call my dealer and ask if the part was in stock, or it should be within a week. I said that's not what I'm hearing from other owners, and he said he didn't really know.

As frustrated I am with the situation, I did feel bad for the guy on the phone. He said it's been very difficult there since Thursday last week.

My service rep said BMWNA would reimburse me for my next payment. I have yet to hear this from BMWNA, so I'm just reporting what my service guy was told by BMWNA.. Every time I call BMWNA, I get ZERO info!

Please keep us informed of any developments. I'll do the same - I've emailed BMW USA, called BMW FS, and asked my CA to probe a bit from his side.

Two pics of my M5 as it was sitting on the showroom floor until I picked it up. I had the dealer tint the windows and add a K40 radar detector to it so they parked it on the showroom until I picked it up.

BTW - can you post or PM some pics of Silverstone? I'm waiting on mine (now delayed more) and have had a hard time finding good shots.

Cheers!

So what about the guys who paid cash for their cars? I am expecting at least a 100,000 mile warranty or something. Three weeks for a car that out the door was $108K. Hard not to get pissed.

Surely because they are all shitting themselves due to the amount of individuals that will probably try to lemon their cars.

Until BMW puts out an official document outlining the recall process I think everything we hear has to be taken with a grain of salt. At this point I dont even think BMW has a handle on the timeline of the process.

They need to understand their customers and realize these arent people that just want to be left in the dark. Owners of these expensive vehicles have certain expectations and this isnt going over to well for brand recognition and loyalty.

Spoke to BMWNA, after I sent an email to one of the BMW guys some of us had lunch with at the M event on September the 4th. The NA rep said he told them to send me a note, and my car will arrive NY tomorrow on the Toronto. She said the ED cars will have priority, and the pumps will be replaced at the VPC and not the dealer. So when the ED cars are shipped they will be ready to go to the customers. She said she would update me in two days, on the status of the parts. She also said customs will process the cars quicky as they know the owners are waiting/they are paid for! So the key for me is when the car clears customs what is the down time! Hope that helps!

I feel better my car will be fixed at the VPC vs. the dealer! Well we will see what happens, and BMWNA has sent me three emails already. I didn't ask for anything but nothing more than an update, and they replied within the hour. I have never had a problem with getting information, but I work for a very large company, and demands is always the wrong approach trust me on that one. I say we give them a week, and see what happens as the information is still fresh not including over a weekend.
