Houston NYE Party at a BMW Dealership
Not sure if this goes in the regional forums, but I thought other members might find it interesting or might want to do this in their area. I was at home (Houston) for the holidays and went to a NYE party that was held at Momentum BMW. It's the first party that I've seen held at a dealership. It was a great concept with a lot of people everywhere and it was a very diverse crowd. They cleared out the showroom floor and put in a stage with a DJ. During the party, they had female dancers on the stage throughout the night...the samba dancers were my personal favorite. The upstairs part of the dealership has a balcony along with some big offices, which is where the VIP section was located. In the VIP section, one of the big offices had it's own DJ and different music. Part of the showroom floor, was roped off with tables for bottle service and VIP access. They had cash bars all throughout the building including at the parts, service and information desks. The covered driveways where you would bring your car in for service was somewhat enclosed by a party tent that had heat lamps, cash bar, tables and provided some outside space for those who wanted to smoke. The TVs that usually have BMW stuff on it were all turned to ESPN, which was huge b/c TX A&M was playing Duke in a bowl game. Also, they had valet service where it looks like guys who worked at BMW would park your car inside the lot of the dealership rather than you parking your car on the street.
Overall, I thought whoever came up with sort of idea/event location is a genius. Who thinks to have a huge party at a car dealership? My brother who lives here said that Kevin Durant held a party here when Houston hosted the NBA All-Star game last year. So for those of you that have connections at dealerships and have reputable event production companies in your area, this may be a great way to entertain some guests.

I've been to wine and cheese socials at dealers before, mostly for model launches but nothing that big.
