You were talking about a 100 k street big sedan heavy car (4000+ lb) and not a 200k race light car (3000lb) like 911 GT3 which is generating only 500 HP with 4L engine (not 3L)...
So basically you need 3L 10 cylinder turbo engine to generate 600+ hp right? I asked you if you know the same engine ever made and installed on a production car ...
Also as I know the difference between RWD and AWD you need to know about the force (or torque) distribution to let car move beside the weight. even on a heavy car like M5/M6 we all have difficulty to put that power down because of RWD....
As far as the discussion about power and torque the simple equation of F= m*a says the acceleration (a) is the result of Force (rotational torque) at given weight (m). It's not talking about Power . As I said again power will be important to support the constant torque which is :P (HP) = T (lb-ft)* RPM / 5252
The issue is the weight balance, the GT3 is around 63% at the rear and the M5/M6 is around 53% at the front. That makes a massive difference to the speed you can get it off the line at, as per:

True. Another reason we can not compare GT3 with M5. rear and mid engine cars are able to lunch much better than front engine cars because of more usable forward Force ! There are many other factors involved such as gear and diff ratios and TCU software to have better acceleration /lunch

Lets say that I have a really good connection with Audi at high level... that I didnt even need to look at a 170k msrp "all the money right now" Panamera only to see the same cars still sitting on the lots almost 2 months later. This car made sense to me and I dont keep cars a long time (usually less than a year) so I understand I will be losing dollars in my bank but I dont like to lose the type of dollars that Panameras are accustomed to losing. The sales appear to be very sluggish too. I guess I could I have driven one but the pricing was an over 45k delta. The RS7 can be modded plug and play and will beat the Panny.

Spot on... and the RS7 is actually a better performer stock to stock for the ways I drive it. Forget about it after the tune... (no mods yet for the Panny). If I get a Porsche it will always be a 911 variant.

Yeah makes sense. I am in between the panamera and the rs7. Tough decisions.

I mean what a great decision you have.... I would have to guess the Panny will out handle it and has some really nice amenities inside. I was sold on this car because of the looks and color; I know the sportback is a love it or hate it view but its my 2nd run with the car so everyone knows where I stand. A tuned RS7 is scary fast and most are trapping right at 130.xx and mid to high 10's. The 4.0 TFSI is a great modable engine and the ZF8 has the proper TCU electronics to make it very aggressive.

Now this Performance edition is definitely a better driving car than my 14... less roll, hardly any tq steer, and minimal understeer in the hardest of turns. Its still 4500 plus lbs but I have that understanding when I drive it. Its a very confident GT cruiser to speeds past 160. And it sounds impressive.

Vic compare to the previous generation you had, this one is more or less understeer? Just curious to know...

Remarkably less understeer and less torque steer too. I don't know what they did with the steering electronics but I can drive this car in Dynamic Steering mode with no issues carving thru some back roads to my house. The 14 was always in Auto or Comfort mode for steering because it was understeering. Now keep in mind that once I changed out the 14's front and rear sways, the car did improve in its steering and lateral movement but the Performance feels great!!!

I ran thru most of your posts but didn't see anywhere you mentioned on what you sold your Huracan for. Since the '15 and '16 Huracans are getting a bit more in my price range, do you mind sharing what you traded your in for? Thanks, Vic!

I just sold it outright last year.... and then a few months later I picked up the Turbo S because I never had enough seat time in my 2014 Turbo S. I modded it easily to over 130 mph traps and mid 2 second repetitive launches to 60.

An RS7 is a good choice, considering the lack of traction in the M5/M6.

I think this is one of the key points in enjoying this car vs the likes of my prior tuned 2016 M5. The tq and the pull along with the mirroring grip really makes it a fun car to drive in all situations on the street. I know there the "purists" who must have rwd cause they be drift kings LOL but I drive in the real world: traffic, turns, stop lights, etc and this car is great for those needs.

This 4.0 liter engine is strong- really strong and also puts out some great sounds unlike the S63tu. If Audi was able to shave 200-300 lbs off this fatty it would be an even more formidable force. But it sure drives well for the weight it does have.

Well said. I don't quite get the knock on AWD.

Realistically, all high-powered cars would benefit from awd, even the rear-engined ones !! Don't waste your money spinning, high-torque and awd make for a fiersome street ride !

Got a 2018 q5 the virtual nav/ dash is amazing, I played a bit with it in the r8 but not enough to appreciate or learn, but after a few days with the Q, I need a 2017 R8 lol. Just waiting for another 20k fall and I'm going for it... Absolutely amazing tech, BMW really needs to step up because the new 7 is not up to par with what audis doing and if thats their standard they're going to pass down to each successive series it isn't up to snuff.

2017 r8 is falling by another 20k? Where are you seeing these prices?

There a choice few deals on the R8 V10 Plus cars for 20k off (msrp over 200k) but they are far and few between. There is no such thing as 40k off on a new one LOL. The Non Plus's have an even less discount as they tend to move a little faster off the lot.

Yeah, I'm not seeing them either. I've been keeping an eye out for the v10+ too.

You might like the Non Plus- its the same exact engine as the Plus with some software only restricitions. I have tuned mine to about 80 awd crank hp and it actually has more hp than the stock plus. Stateside, the non Plus gets the magnetorheoligical shocks and the Plus gets normal dampeners so the ride is much better and compliant in the Non Plus. The Non Plus gets the B&O system while the Plus has it as an option. Obviously the Plus is plug and play at 610 hp and carbon ceramics along with the fixed wing but I dont track my car and the tune brought it up and beyond.

I don't want a new one lmao they were 169 when I was shopping all day now already low 160s used in a few spots.

I am talking USED they are selling wholesale on manheim for 145-150 with between 2-10k miles, so when they're going retail for that is what I meant.

I like the sound of a NA V10, but I like the torque and tuneability of a turbo.
Those who leave the Turbo keep coming back LOL
