$475-$600 brake job
I was up for my brake fluid replacement in the M5 and I thought I would see what it would take to have a dealer (dealer name shall remain nameless) use my provided brake fluid and install the SS challenge brake end lines.
I figured similar work, same system, reasonable cost add-on to do some additional work. Well, I was wrong. Using my provided fluid and replacing the end lines with my provided end lines was on first answer going to be $600+, after being put on hold, the price became $475. Explanation given was that the bleeding and replacement procedure (if they open up the system by replacing the end lines) is a "very extensive" procedure. I said "No" and advised them to put my things back in the container in the trunk and just do the standard fluid replacement. Just so we are keeping score: BMW Maintenance Server replacement of fluid = $0 cash out of pocket for me. Still have my two bottles of better fluid and brake end lines...though they are doing me a tremendous amount of good in my trunk. Comments welcome...posting this very extensive procedure is even more welcome. |

Cost me $200 for both the challenge brake line install and the SRF fluid change ( I provided the fluid) 2qts and they used about 1.5.
