New goods

Finally gave her some attention. I noticed a lot of rock chips on the front bumper and decided to get xpel applied (better late than never?). Next, applied two layers of cquartz. Then I had the wheels powder coated a bronze chrome - not sure what to make of them. I like them but I wish they were a bit lighter in color. I had to buy new ///M stickers for the wheels from ECS tuning but these things came off in a few days... Lastly, Eisenmann exhaust was installed (thanks to the guys at trinity). Next, I'm looking at either AMS downpipes or MSR intake. Thoughts on the wheels, the BMW caps on the wheels, and what to do next?

Nice!!

Thing of doing the same. After the rock chips.. With the setup you put up. Did it make things better? Worth it? Better late then ever actually right?

Beautiful car and tasteful mods.

For the wheel caps: www.bimmian.com sells vinyl stickers that go over the blue. They are perfect and easy to apply. They come with a sheet to take care of every roundel on the car. I went black but I have seen them do different colors. Maybe you can match your wheels.

As for Downpipes / intakes, what's your goals with the Downpipes? If you are happy with the sound of the exhaust and don't want anything louder, I would stick with stock. The stock Downpipes are sufficient for tunes and more power. I've seen 660-690 whp on stock Downpipes. Keep in mind Catless Downpipes do come with raw gas smell, car will be significantly louder, and you'll have a CEL. Then you'll need the JB4 to clear those CELs or a tune. I personally would not do Downpipes without the jb4/tune as you'll not see much gains.

If your thinking of catted, stick with the stock ones and buy the intakes.

As you already know, the intakes sound amazing and it WILL transform the look, sound, and the way the car responds. It is an amazing mod.

For your next mod, I highly highly recommend upgrading the front kidneys. Easiest mod and not expensive.

These are aftermarket but excellent quality, and comes with the m5 logo. Looks just like OEM. The LCI grill looks so much better.

You can still see the rock chips but my daily route involves a highway with 100's of dirt/dump trucks daily so I think it's definitely worth it for me. Prevent further damage this way. I also had my headlights covered.

I'll look into the colors for the caps. Thanks. And good point on the downpipes. I'd rather not deal with the CEL until after the warranty expires. My goal was just sound and some power at the same time. However, I've also heard of the rattling that occurs with the AMS downpipes so thats another con for me. I think I'll go with the intake first and possibly drop it a little bit

I think red would be great on your SG M5. That color looks good more on white, which is why i plan to do the same color wheels for my AW.

Good points on the downpipes vs intake. do you know how bad are those intakes that goes all the way out to the front grills in the rain? are they still driveable in the air with this intake system?

Red looks good. I'll likely consider that when looking to purchase new wheels.

The rattle is a pre-existing condition of the wastegate. When you remove the cats, you are removing that sound damping as well that the cats, resonators, and mufflers provide. I've also noticed with different tunes the rattle increase and decreases. I've had three tunes on my car and noticed the diff.

I have RPI Catless Down Pipes and have never noticed a rattling sound. For me I went catless dp over the intake. An axle back exhaust just doesn't give the F10 enough sound. It's better than stock but not by much. I needed more sound and the dp really wakes up the car. Yes you do get a smell of raw gas if you leave the car running in your garage or stopped at a stop light for a very long time with the window down. But god that smell gives me a real hard on!

As for the LCI Kidneys that is a very good next mod for you as well. Really makes a big difference in the look of the car.

I can dig the bronze wheels

Cheers,
Anthony
