BMS Intake
Looking for feedback from some board members that are running the BMS Intake. How is the sound improvement? Performance, etc.? Car will have OEM catless downpipes, Erace exhaust, and stage 2 tune. I know other intakes exist like MSR, RK, Eventuri but I can't justify those prices. That is just my opinion and I'm sure those intakes are awesome (MSR sounds and looks insane).
For $429 BMS intake seems like a good option. Thanks for any insight. |

I had the same thought process as you. Couldn’t get myself to spend that kind of money on thousand dollar intakes. I think BMS is the best bang for the buck. I got it mainly for the sound. I’m sure performance is negligible.
However, mine kept throwing a CEL. I checked for leaks and even cleaned my sensors but to no avail. So I sold mine. |

Try Charcoal Delete and some K&N Drop-ins ... best bang for your buck w/o a doubt.

They are horrible and will cause a CEL common issue.
Get the project gamma front grill intakes which are identical to what everyone else markets up u can get them for around $700 shipped. Not $450 but still better than $1200. |

I've sold quite a few sets of BMS intakes for the S63TU and rarely hear about any CEL issues. Maybe some of you have older DME software versions that need to be updated?

I’ve had the BMS e63tu intakes installed for almost 2 years and never experienced the CEL issue.
I am wondering, though, how often I need to clean or replace the air filters. Also wondering if anyone else running this intake can describe the change in sound they experienced after upgrading from stock to BMS. There was clearly a change in sound and increased volume after I installed the BMS but not sure I would describe as “intoxicating”. Its a louder hiss but, frankly, if I ever sell the car another buyer may even find it undesirable. Maybe I didnt install correctly, so interested in others opinion. Thanks guys. |

If you want a full CAI at a reasonable price as already mentioned the project gamma intakes are the best bang for buck. I have these but its not that noticeable to be honest. I would recommend to remove the pods every 6 months and give a clean out to reduce risk of engine damage.
If I had my time again I think I would have just got the BMS for less maintenance. |
