The M6 Coupe

I drove the 2014 M6 Coupe as a loaner car for 2 weeks recently from my dealership. It's one hell of a batmobile! It'd be hard to improve, except for the ride comfort and maybe a few minor things.

And that is three years of not enjoying the car - and if the new one is out then, you will probably want that one and then start the waiting period all over again

The summary states that "6NS ‘Enhanced USB and Bluetooth plus Smartphone Integration’ is no longer standard because the Bluetooth audio streaming functionality moves to a new standard option (6NH ‘Hands-free Bluetooth and USB Audio Connection’). The remaining functionality of 6NS is now a standalone option for $500."

I'm about to confirm my order for a '15 M5 and will also upgrade to an iPhone 6 when it comes out in the fall. Does anyone know what exact features I will be missing when I do NOT order the new standalone 6NS option?

I also assume that there is no point to buying the snap-in adapter given that the iPhone 6 will be larger and might not fit using the current adapter.

From my understanding you won't have the USB port or the cable to charge your phone. I am going to get it as I like to charge my phone while I'm out. I may be wrong on this though.

Thanks for the feedback. $500 for a USB port plus a cable seems a lot.

In the grand scheme of things $500 on a 100k car seems small

I assume '16 was a typo and you meant '15. The '15 model can be ordered now.

I've read where the awd option might come in for the next generation. However, any chance we might see it for the 2015 or later? (f10 series)

I doubt it as they have already started the testing phase for the new 5 series.

Figured I would post my pricing and payment calculator. Feel free to download it, and unzip the excel file to edit. Just update the fields in yellow background. Of course, you will need Microsoft Excel 2007 or newer on your PC / Mac.

it has all the options for the M5 (except the frozen paint schemes) that you can chose from a drop down. You can select which options you want, and it will configure your car, estimate your tax, and your monthly payment. It ONLY works for financing. I have never leased the car and don't intend to, so did not build that in. Feel free to edit and post if someone does that. It also accounts for your trade-in and tax credit from trade-in (you don't pay tax on value of trade-in if you apply it towards your purchase in certain states, NJ including)

You can also plug in the discount for each option, and calculate the discounted price of the car. Feel free to tweak your discount numbers based on your own estimate / knowledge. Sheet will create pricing for both 2014 and 2015 for list and discounted, as well as monthly payments. have fun!

Haha! I do a lot of research before I buy, especially for a $100k+ car! This forum has been very helpful in understanding more about the M5, so anything I can do to help others...
Thanks
