I have run into 5 more tuned M5's with the same problem, and these were fixed through a BMW software update. Mine now has 7.2014 on it, I just didn't have the chance to test if it is all good now. I have done extensive data logging and this finally pointed into the direction of a software issue.

however, what about the new update? should i ask the dealer about it? and what is the other problems solved and upgrades included?

thank you in advance ^_^

Sorry for my late response,

I was wondering if there was a lot of oil on the MAF's or not.
A little bit is nothing to worry about, but if you're car starts using more than 1L oil @ 1000km you have to check you're engine.

BMW says max oil usage is 1L / 1000km for these s63TU engines.

Sorry to hear

I had the same problem with my car. I had a custom cold air intake, BMS JB4 piggy using 6.0 over stock boost, catless DP's, methal injection, exhaust and I was getting a misfire code in cylinder one. My good friend is a tech at local dealer and he said change injectors etc etc. Not the case.

It only happened between 3-4th gear on strong pulls where it felt like the car had some work in the torque department. Then I would get an engine malfunction alert. I would then have to pull over restart the car and it would go away.

Come to find out...it had a lot to do with the software. The car needs to be tuned according to the mods on the car not a standardized software that is sold to everyone. Wish I could be of more help but in the end a true DME tune is needed with this temperamental cars.

I would suggest massive data logging or at least find someone with same mods who has already done so and use their info.

Wish ya the best brother. Keep us posted on what you find out.

Try to run just 4.5psi over stock & set yr meth to 65-70 instead of 60 if you are using the bms meth kit, it may work & you should be much faster on timing.

Guys I had the same misfire issue during high rpm and heavy load with my bms stage 1. The fix is with the plugs, the OP mentioned replacing them but replacing perfectly good plugs won't do anything . You need to re gap the plugs to .22 and you will be good to go. The added pressure in the cylinder is actually blowing out the spark and that is whats causing the misfire. All of you should get a new set of plugs re gap them and off you go

Do you guys running +6 and better on your boost check your afr's? Our cars are DI and are tunes extremely lean from the factory, when running that much more boost without a actual tune that changes the fuel tables is really pushing the envelope, especially doing it daily. my m6 is in the high 13's low 14's under boost. No tuner would go over 12.8 or so. Running 24psi+ that lean is scary

I'm running 23-22 psi (flash) Afr at 11.9 and timing at 13-15
You're right with the spark plugs
