Whooops...hear we go. THIS beats the first comment. Makes your .02 worth 0.

Get real. Who CARES who likes what? Everyone gets so up in arms if someone makes a negative comment about their car-even ONE thing. It is so laughable. It's like kids.

Man, if I had got bent out of shape every time my buddy Tim laughed at my TTS and said it had a "vintage"-lol top I'd be in the mad house. It is funny and he's sort of right. I don't get all worked up. I just look at his 458 and say "glad you only have to look at the rear bumper slowpoke".

Look-no ill will George. Just pointing out that no car is perfect and the only opinion or review that matters is the owner's.

P.S. In turns I think AWD might help too...just a little.-lol! Hahahahahaha... Just stirring the pot. Playing a bit. This thread has taken on a life of it's own.
Cold I spend a lot of time on the track and the students with the worst bad habits are the ones with AWD cars . Maybe it's a south east thing but man it's true here . I was speaking of driving on track , not on the street . No ill will but AWD is not the fastest in turns on track by a long shot . I don't give a crap what people think of my cars . I just think this it sucks bc it doesn't have AWD thing is silly .

We should all get back to discussing the use of the word "meh" instead

Coldlist, just like you did a U-turn on your views on the M5/M6, in the future (after having bought a new Ferrari with RWD or a 911 GT3) we can expect you to come back and praise the thrill and fun driving a good RWD car provides. And that AWD is soooo for the geriatric and clueless

Just kidding of course

Driving a bit on snow in the winters here in Scandinavia, I can support your view on AWD drivers vs RWD drivers.

Driving a RWD car during the winter really gets you working on your reactions, throttle feel and steering input and correction. AWD and FWD is much easier and safer for the average driver, since oversteer is a non-issue. But you can basically just get in the car and drive away without any need to get a feel for the available traction or whether you need a more delicate throttle input.

On a RWD car, you immediately get feedback that you need to be precise and delicate with throttle input and steering corrections etc.

A AWD car would be quicker as it manages to get more traction during acceleration and at certain points through a corner. But the RWD car is much more involving, demanding and fun (all IMHO of course)

Since I got called "Eurotrash" and "Eurobankruptcy fail" by the OP, I found this article in the NY Times quite interesting...

No one was saying it sucks because it has AWD. He just said it didn't put power down well, which I don't think is off base.

Anyway, the word was "meh"-lol

Oh I never changed my view of the Ferrari-NOT a good "driver's car". Pretty to look at.

I have no issues with RWD. How did it turn into that? I was just acknowledging that the M5 spins tires. And yeah, my overall view of the car changed in terms of my own enjoyment once I found the RWD C2S. I realized that I preferred the sports car feel more. Might not be for everyone-just my preference.

I am getting old. No argument there!

Nope. Unless I move to Austin I will cancel the GT3 order. Going there this weekend to check it out. I will keep it if I move there so I can take advantage of COTA. Otherwise, my NEXT car will be the AWD Huracan (quite a geriatric car huh?). I already have the deposit in.

I figure for rainy days I'll drive it. I don't want to be slipping around in the M6.

That's the main reason I sold my M3 and went for the RS5. Couldn't put the power down with the M3, off the line and corner exits, the car was going nowhere. And the M3 got about half the torque you guys have on the M5, don't want to think how an M5 would struggle with traction.

Newsflash. You are the king of passive aggressive.

No need to end every post with "just kidding", as we know you are not.

Oh, and if you would rather not be called a socialist (psst, we all know you are), you probably shouldn't quote the NY Times. Jeezuss. But why is that exactly what I would have expected. Just scroll down to the "other" headlines. What a joke.
