New Pam Turbo vs RS7 Performance vs M6 GC vs CTSV

Maybe the first magazine test?

Anyways, the RS7 is a straight line missile, CTSV surprisingly slow in acceleration test (probably hard to launch like the RWD M5/6) and the new Pam turbo of course, won the overall.

Or M6 with good tyres and a tune. Better around a track then too, that was the eye opener for me - look at the RS7 time to 200kmh as it is really flying, then the slow lap time?

Those Audis (RS7/6) never has good handling, engine hung in front the front axle, too much understeer. Maybe it's by design who knows, especially cars with this much power, but it cost time on the track.

I think in SportAuto's test, the RS7 Performance while faster than RS7, did not improve the lap time.

I enjoyed my RS7 but really felt the Quattro understeer was a large inhibitor in handling. I did swap out the sways for thicker bars and that did help reduce the understeer and lateral rolls (the roll changed a lot). It was well worth the money but one thing that always plagued that car especially after my GIAC tune was torque steer as well. I would like to see what Audi has done with the 2017 Performance model though; mine was a 14. I never took the RS7 to the track but my standard driving routes demand a great handling car and it just isn't as easy in the turns vs the likes of the M5.

Thank you, someone else finally mentioning torque steer in an RS6/7. That combined with the vast expanses of plastic across the top of the dash completely ruin the experience for me.

I'm genuinely afraid that the new M5 will have torque steer too. It shouldn't be as much as Audis due to the BMW design which has the diff mounted off to the side of the engine sump compared to Audi having theirs beside the front of the gearbox which in turn means the diff is closer to the centreline of the car.

I'm also worried about all of the G30 and G11/12 cars going up by a few percentage points in front weight distribution and this also affecting the new M5 and M6, they could easily end up being about the same as an RS7 at about 54-55%

I'm a bit shocked about the tires they chose for OEM fitment on the Panamera. The Continental ContiSport Contact 5. It drives well, not as well as Michelins PSS, but on par with P Zero. However the tread life is abysmal.

I replaced the front tires on my wife's car back in March, and they are already worn out with maybe 7000 miles on them.

I'm switching the full set out for Michelin PS AS3+ tires tomorrow.

The new PZero's (on the 991.2 Turbo S) are comparable to PSS I hear. They could have gone that route???

They have signed a deal with Michelin too so we should see PS4S on some Porsches soon.

I don't think the new P Zeros (PZ4) are as good as PSS. There have been some tests and they show its better but not best yet.

My P Zeros are down to 4/10ths but I'm holding out for now with hope of getting the new PS4S by end of Q1
