I hear you ............most Aventadors are sold after 2k miles or they sit in a garage 1 of 10. Tranny sucks and it's a pig, but cool if you want to say hey look st me. I got ya though.
To be honest with you if I want to say "hey look at me" I would pay half and get 650s.

Well you know better than me a 650s with 4-5k miles on it is in 200 range.
Aventador with the same mileage is still over 400k.
As far as sound I agree with you but the look is subjective. I love McLaren more than any exotic car in look territory so the better "look at me purpose" and again this is subjective.

Compare resale or how much the GT will appriaise for in years to come.

The ole 5.4 out of the f150 back in 06 came out with a base price of 149k. Now you can't buy a used one for less that a 1/4 of a mil.

Agree. Where "look at me" goes, subjectivity lies not in how the owner feels abt the look, but in how bystanders feel. In this regard, the extremely low and wide stance, loud glorious sound, coupled with those damn scissor doors means the Bull takes the cake every day of the week. Many would struggle to even identify the manufacturer of the 650S...

Still I pick 650s even if nobody can identify the manufacturer
And I'm not too concerned or think about look at me stuff. It all depends on you. For sure M5 is a look at me car in many countries including Asians... or at least I felt when I was in Shanghai two years ago while most of the cars were old VW

Where I am, M5 is mostly anonymous. We are not part of China btw.

Half a Mil with an engined named "EcoBoost" in a halo car? I'll pass.

They could have given it a better name/different engine. It doesn't even live up the the "Eco" name with it having "11 mpg city, 18 highway—far shy of the Ferrari and McLaren, which make 15 and 16 mpg respectively in the city, 22 on the highway."

Then it shares the engine with a pickup. HAHA

Last GT had a 5.4L DOHC motor, forged rotating assembly (crank, rods, pistons), aluminum block and heads (both specific to GT only), dry sump oil system, specific cams only to GT, and a Lysholm supercharger.

GT motor assembly was never shared with any car or truck.

In 2007 the Mustang GT500 came out with a similar motor. Displacement was the same, that's where it ended.

Lightening had a 5.4L SOHC motor with an Eaton blower if I'm not mistaken.

Yeap, lightning and all 5.4 trucks from that generation all had iron blocks. No truck or car ever had the aluminum block until the GT500 and it was still not on par with the GT. Its fairly similar to the Cobra R which did have similar heads and aluminum block with nearly 400RWHP N/A back in 2000. But the heads on the GT flow more than even the Cobra R. The only 5.4 DOHC was used on Navigators at the time and they had 52cc combustion chambers and drastically different flow rates and cams.

However, 90% of F150's had forged cranks and all lightnings had forged cranks. Not a big deal, the heads, cam followers, lash adjusters, cams, oiling system, superchager, intercooler, were all vastly different. Unless the Cobra R had a dry sump, I don't think Ford had done that before either.

Consider the 03-04 cobras had forged bottom ends with DOHC, and were 4.6's and the Lightnings were 5.4 with SOHC and ended production in 04, I kind of expected FORD to do something with a high output 5.4 with the works. They did just that and are some out there making 1200-1800 rwhp with the ricardo trans stock.

Also the ford GT utilized 16 individual 42# per hour injectors mounted on the turkey pan. Also similar to the lightning, but the lightning only used 42# with one in each bank, not two. Honestly, back in 2006 the 129-149 price right was perfect and a budget for the performance you got. The throttle body was also updated from dual 65mm on the lightning to a dual 75mm for the GT. No part from a lightning other than certain gaskets fit the GT.

I own a lightning, and a 950 rwph 03 F150, and the only thing they share is bore and stroke. The forged cranks were even forged in different locations to prevent impurities.
