Side gills: Chrome, matte, or shiny black?

I'm thinking of swapping out the side gills on my car. To my eyes, the chrome outline on the standard one is garish -- jarring! -- on the side of my Singapore Grey car. But I'm not sure whether to go matte finish or shiny (to match the Shadowline trim on the windows).

Thoughts?

Just to throw another option in the mix.

I have them on my MCB and think they look great.

I've been wanting to see the outside part which is chrome painted the exterior color. Think it would blend much better. Even the black shinny or matte will stick out a bit since it is a relatively large piece.

Also paint the inside and only have the mesh shinny like the rest of the mesh pieces

I say gloss to match the rest of the black (shadow line) trim.

For my space gray with black 343's I ordered: gloss black outer trim, frozen gray inner, Monte Carlo blue mesh (match calipers) and dark tinted LED marker light.

Worst case... It's too many diff colors...in which case, I send back to IND to repaint for $45.

I figured the one area to add a little color to a black and gray car would be the side gills.

I went with a rather conservative choice in the SG

Gloss outside, matte inside.

I like that matte inner/gloss outer combo! Could be a good look on my Singapore Gray car.

Where'd you get them?

IND is the place!! Highly respected for their great customer service and quality work.

Maybe consider doing the mesh part in Sing Gray to match your car? Gloss black outer/stock matte inner/SG mesh.

Could be a little touch of color to set it off...?

Color matched inside and out; versus color matched outside, matte inside.

Your car must look awesome. Would love to see a pic of the outside side pieces painted same color of the car. IMO that is the best way to go because I feel those pieces are so large relative to the are they take up on the side. With the outer pieces painted it makes the piece look smaller. Then the black inner part and or mesh blends with the rest of the trim.
