Price gouging

Walking into this dealership in SoCal I notice this lovely little add-on......

The M5 is not something brand new, even the M6 Gran Coupe isn't that exclusive.

I wonder if BMW condones this kind of offensive pricing.

Absolutely ridiculously. BMW of SF has the same mark up for the M5 and M6. As well as a $20k markup for the new M3 and M4 they have. It's hilarious actually

Why would be BMW care?
They will enjoy hearing their cars sell for 20% above MSRP!!
Insane though

In Canada, if they do that price adjustment in a dealership environment setting, their business license may be suspended and will be fined big time.

"Why would they (BMW) care..."...??!!?!!!?!?!!?!????!?

Are you serious?!?

It doesn't do anything positive for BMW for a dealer to add those markups.

Have have seen this on the carrera gt... Not a BMW. Those guys are crazy.

Sad thing is I bet people are still buying them.

My local dealer won't sell an M for below sticker so I shop else where.

I do believe BMW cares about this gross gouging of a year old model.

What does this tell people about a stealership like this.

Even if you are Mr. Moneybags you would still feel like you were robbed.

If a new i8 fetches 20k over, sure I can somewhat understand if you want to be the first cool kid on the block.

But, this is absurd and shameful.

I have no problem with it. Most people on this board are buying far below MSRP. If everyone bought a BMW this way, the dealer would never make any Money on New Cars. Some people just don't care too much about price. In Irvine, guys like Kobe Bryant stroll in and just buy it, so why not try the markup. Let the Dealer make some $$$ off someone where it will not mean anything to them, so we can buy at a great discount.

You mean like finding someone in Miami who speaks English?

That is just crazy. I was offered an m4 order at Braman West Palm at a reasonable amount over invoice. Maybe it is the different management vs Miami or maybe it is the fact that I have purchased about a dozen cars from Braman WPB.

All dealerships do it and based on availability of a certain car in a certain market they do get their premiums in some cases, but not all. BMW could care less what dealerships sell the cars for since each dealership is responsible for their own balance sheet and income statement.

On a side note, this is the premium for the ULTIMATE DRIVING MACHINE only.......
