Love it Zil
Nice car, Not sure better than M3 May be better than the sedan but love the M4 - But exhaust is great here with heavenly blips that I could hear in the background Interior isn't for me especially the Navigation screen which isn't even as classy as Audi S6!! Thank for posting Last edited by soooma; 02-24-2015 at 02:37 PM.. |

I like the first run tests on the car and it looks like a baby S63 but that might be a detractor for some. Its appearance is almost tame compared to the rear bulges of the M3 and front scoops. I love the M177 engine and have no doubt a tune will be ready early on (not a resistor one either) meaning that car could be boasting close to 580-590 crank hp and 600 lb/ft of crank tq. The MCT appears to have had an electronic facelift because my excessive experience with this tranny is that it shifts slower and the paddle to action shift points are delayed. But CH says its much better and I have heard this on the Benz boards too. The 19 inch Turbo S look a like polished wheels are attractive too especially in contrast to a darker paint color.
Nice post and good car-- I wonder if its great??

I actually like the car a lot. The interior cabin looks nicer than an M3's and the TT V8 sounds and performs better too. The biggest thing that the M3 has going for it, is the weight. I believe the C63 is still more the German muscle car than a track focused street car. The exterior design, as Vic pointed out, is a little mini S-Class-ish, which I think is a good thing. I still don't and am not sure if I ever will like the rear-ass designs of Mercedes though. Their trunk lines almost always seem to fall off too low and it looks kind of weird to me. For what it's worth, I think Mercedes really nailed it with this latest generation C63, it really has the things you can't get in an M3 but the same could be said for the opposite. Can't wait to start seeing them on the roads.

I ordered it with edition 1 as it adds a bit of a nice flair to make it more appealing visually, merc assured me the gearbox is more responsive, found using paddles on a e63 frustrating as several hard downshifts with the paddle were completely ignored, found it better to leave it in auto but hopefully all that is remedied.I have no doubt it wont be as sharp as a m3 but it will probably have more theater to it.

The estate wagon version does look nice.
Also: As far as Benz turbo engines are concerned, many reviewers have commented that this new 4.0 V8 TT sounds better than the 5.5 V8 TT (the one used in the E63 and CLS63) Any truth to that? |

We will all find out soon enough--- the M157 is arguably one of the best stock sounding engines (Turbo wise) out there. It shames the F10 and F13 OEM notes.

Oh man, I forgot about the wagon C63 AMG-S. I would LOVE to have one of those! It's just way sexier car than the sedan. The lines on it are much better. I don't know if they will be bringing the C63 AMG-S Wagon to the States, but if they do, Mercedes will have the ultimate ace up it's sleeve against the BMW F80 M3.

With that said, someone told me of one theory is that the current 5.5 V8 TT is an existing MB engine with AMG modifications.........whereas the new 4.0 V8 TT is a 100 percent AMG engine built from the ground up and will be exclusive to AMG models and variants only.... Anyways, we'll see.... |
