it says lifetime, how long do you plan on keeping this car in order for your magic fluid to actually "work" or prolong life? jesus. leave it alone
Fair enough, it's a personal choice for sure but I've watched the DCT fluid change video on here and the amount of swarf on the drain plug is enough for me to change the fluid and DCT filters when I reach 30k ...gearbox issues on these things are expensive if you are out of warranty!

Yes, more expensive but can be used for all vehicles except F87 (M2) and must be used for all vehicles 2016 onwards (post 6 above).

I don't think anyone is saying they are smarter than BMW.
I'm pretty sure the general consensus is that when BMW says "lifetime" they mean ~5 years.
Those of us that plan on keeping the car longer will want to change any "lifetime" fluids.
I'd be willing to be bet that if BMW didn't cover maintenance that they would have a service interval for the DCT oil.

M5 from late 2015 > they fitted Getrag GS7D36SG

Wonder what the difference is, and why they recommend different oil for both??
This information is false. Still not sure whatever the difference is between the +1 and the -1 DCTF, as Pentosin lists nothing on their website about a +1 DCTF.

The Getrag GS7D36BG M Double Clutch transmission is the standard transmission in the F10 M5.

The Getrag GS7D36SG is the double clutch transmission that went into the M3.

The difference between the two is that in the BG transmission in the F10 M5, 5th gear is a direct gear and 7th gear is the indirect gear. This was necessary due to the lower speed range for the F10 M5's S63B44T0 engine.

The M3 transmission designation is GS7D36"S"G (sport), and F10 M5 designation GS7D36"B"G (Gasoline.)
