April production = MY2013?

So i ordered the car January 1st, they said early March production with delivery in late May. Alpine white, sakhir orange, and aluminum trim. Those were the only options I could chose, all other options (full leather, m seats, nightvision, etc.) are all standard with a set price of $151, 000 (usd) .

All is well, until I stopped by them today. They said due to "production problems, your cars production date has been changed to late April, but is now a MY2013 and delivery mid June. " the price changed to $158,000 (usd) and i asked what's changed and they said absolutely nothing. No b&o sound systems, or ceramic brakes were an option(they said the m6 is getting those brakes.) I don't know, just seems really weird that overnight (according to the sales rep) so much changes without my knowledge... I thought some of those options were confirmed? Anyone else with a late April production that can give some insight?

Thanks!

There were some minor changes (one or two more options) and a price increase as of March 2012 production for some markets, but it's still a 2012 Model Year.

Best regards,
south

So you're saying the sales guy is lying about it being a 2013 model? Is there a reference/source that i can read?

Well, I guess BMW in Qatar could decide to call it a 2013 Model Year (still unlikely), but as far as production goes 2013 starts in July 2012. See this table for reference: http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=548052

It lists the US schedule but -- again -- from a production point of view, the model year switchover dates are globally the same.

Best regards,
south

My sales guy did project the MY2013 will have a small bump in price over the MY2012.

In Canada, he is guessing $1000 the most. Simply not to upset the MY2012 customers.

My Dealer also said April Production is a Model Year 2013. They also added that there is a lot of demand for the sakhir orange interior and factory has asked them to limit it

Hmm, interesting in limiting Sakhir Orange.

If true, Fck BMW its a $100k car. Get more leather. If someone told me that I cant have it I'd be pissed.

Again, if its true, stupidest thing I've ever heard BMW do.

When this hits the US, they will be dead in the water...

Doesn't make sense, but then again....

Nothing is limited, its all fully optioned out. Its a set price and the only options you can pick are the exterior, interior, and trim colors.
