I would have to agree I own a M5 CP and have driven both M6 CP and M6GC CP and it is definitely M6>M5>M6GC

I think opinions vary here but many magazine articles seem to think the M6GC is the better handler. (Motor trend, Car & Driver, etc) I agree with them (for once) but the one thing for me that was the deal breaker was the M5 is way to "common looking" The interior too seemed very similar to a 528i. I wanted to have something that felt a bit more special and unique. There is a reason that BMW positions the M6GC higher on the food chain than the m5

The question was about handling nothing else? Please post links to your references? I have not seen this? I do not agree. I am going from my real world experience not magazines. That's my 2 cents or 20k leave it up to the OP to determine if the looks are worth the extra $$ in my book they are not

Here is the link to the car and driver article. http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...n-coupe-page-3 I would love to see some validated times for the ring for the two cars.

Doesn't seem that's comparison to the M5 CP? And motor trend?

I would agree that the M6GC is more exotic looking. But it's an extra $25k. Just couldn't justify it for my Daily Driver.

From the article:

"There’s an even better rationalization for the M6 Gran Coupe, though: It’s a stronger car than the M5.

That discovery is difficult for us to wrap our heads around, as the two cars are so similar. Yet the M6 Gran Coupe was repeatedly praised for its performance in this test, both subjectively and objectively. It recorded the fastest slalom time thanks to prodigious grip and unflappable stability. The optional carbon-ceramic brakes have great top-of-pedal response, and the M6’s stopping distance was just one foot longer than the RS7’s.

The weighty steering isn’t as quick as we might like, but it reacts to every small adjustment. And in the Gran Coupe’s body motions, there’s no evidence of the M5’s nervous up-down clip. The Gran Coupe masters ride and handling trade-offs in a way that’s been notably missing from other recent BMWs"

At the end of the day it is another opinion though and if you choose to agree with it, it is up to you.

Not here in the UK, we can get £30K+ off the cars here, I got £34K+ off mine with competition Pack, and with the CP the M6 GC is IMO the better handling car, but each to his own.
When I had one for a few days it just felt sooo much more connected than my LCI M5.

You got it and said in the best manner the F10 is much more masculine. It happens the same with the X5-X6 sequel.

M6GC looks superb !! no questions asked....!

I don't agree that ///m5 looks like any 5-series, there's tonnes of things to differentiate it from that: ///M logo, quad exhausts, front expanded lower kidney grills, Blue Brakes, rear spoiler ! The overall shape might be similar but a car lover knows what he is looking at...for some reason all M cars always look stunningly beautiful than regular bmw's

MY LCI M5, slips by unnoticed here in the UK, no one has come up to me and asked about it.
Just looks 535 M Sport here to many I casually asked "what car is that over there", reply "5 series BMW nice colour though".
Good in many ways I suppose.

I think that's a good thing, the m5 is not meant to be a completely different or obviously highlighted version, it's always been subtle, and noticed by those who know about these types of vehicles..

If you want something to scream at you LOOK AT ME! There are plenty of other cars and the M5 is not for you

As for looking like a 528, I'm pretty sure those very same people would think a m6 or m6gc is a regular 645 from the front :
