CF Front Splitters on Frozen Silver
Installed last week finally!!
They look awesome and change a look of a car massively! It looks so much more aggressive now, at least to me big thanks to Nate from IND and forum member Jbomb I have CF wing mirror covers and M performance CF rear Spoiler coming thinking of getting CF Agency Power rear diffuser! now question of the day is what shall i do with my wheels? Maybe Pertplus can comment on it? If i go black, i go with powder coating satin black! Any other recommendations? sorry for iPhone quality pics, if the weather is good this w/e, will have good pics |

I've been thinking of getting those splitters.

Looks great. Do you know what silver that frozen silver is based on? Silverstone? TiAg? Asking because it doesn't look as blue as Silverstone.

So it has 3 layers: paint, clear coat and matt When original FS is paint + frozen clear coat Here is a pic of my car next to original bmw FS m3! At that time only my bonnet was done and i like my silver-ish outcome more than original blue-ish |

Looks great - you should consider adding the M Performance vinyl on the side skirts - would look good on your color.

That looks stunning
I'm tempted to do matt film on Moonstone now, although not sure how that'll turn out. How have you found maintenance? Do you need to clean the matt film regularly to stop it staining? +1 for satin black wheels. |

Which colour is your car? Maintenance is very easy, i treat it with nanolex and swisswax for matt paint, same as Avlnch using and you cannot even tell when its dirty and when its clean! Plus i dont have to worry about stonechips and bird shit anymore! Though, i always hv detailing kit in my boot and if there is any bird-shit i remove straight away No shiny spots anywhere yet! |

My car is moonstone! Hmmm... may have to try on the mirrors as a test.
John, I'll try to post a video of moonstone in the next few days, after it comes back from the dealership, to give you a better idea. I will say one thing though, moonstone works better in sunnier climates - in common UK overcast weather it can look titanium silver (lighter coloured clouds) or very light metallic beige (darker clouds), as per pic of 535d below. If you can live with that, moonstone may be an option. I actually prefer MCB, but wanted something which would be lower maintenance and slightly less noticeable as an M5. My first choice was Singapore Grey though, as it's an 'M' colour, but too scared of maintenance (having had Carbon Black in the past). Last edited by Dionysus; 03-12-2014 at 04:52 PM.. |

What did you wrap it in? Its a Jeep, so I dont care to break the bank on the materials. Is there a difference between using a matte vinyl wrap versus a Matte Clear Bra? Or are they one in the same? My assumption is that a matte clear bra with self healing properties would cost a lot more than a simple vinyl wrap. What did you use exactly?

as far as i know there is no transparent matte vinyl wrap specifically made for car so i called one of the best wrapping shops back home (a lot of people from abroad send their cars to this specific shop) and asked them which material they use for frost/frozen look. they told me they use HEXIS laminate vinyl code for matte laminate is V750M, material is quite hard to work with, but 100 times cheaper than matte clear bra i paid 120 gbp for 25m roll with 1370mm width, which is more than enough for m5 size car to do every single panel in 1 piece maybe i should finally make a post about my wrapping experience! ps: if you decide to go for any other colour than transparent matte go with 3M, much better material to work with and much better quality outcome and lasts longer! i used hexes first to dechrome all bits and pieces and i didn't like it at all, so i re-wrapped everything in 3M |
