Is anyone actually expecting them to retrofit new seats? Let's face it, we were screwed. All we can expect is an apology or an intricately fabricated excuse. This really pisses me off.

+1

I've been following this since BMW excluded the back-width adjustment from the original F10s. It pissed me off then and I figured that they'd add them back with the LCI. Current reports suggest that the LCI may happen for MY2014, so we may see them across the F10 line then. But I agree that owners of 2012 and 2013 M5s will be SOL.

Yeah I don't see to many other people having to replace the I drive system. From the first day i picked it up the car had amnesia. It wouldn't remember any of the presets i programmed in and the satellite radio always went to the demo station. The car was re-programmed a few times and whe it didn't resolve the problem, bmw germany suggested with just swap out a new i drive that fixed the problem. The big issue is what are we all going to do with the LOUSY drivers seat.

Gents,

I got a response this morning via email. They told me that I would be contacted soon by one of the Supervisors. They gave me the extension that I could reach them at if they did not contact me in due time.

Hang in there guys, patience.

Gents,

I spoke with BMW NA Customer Relations Supervisor today. I reaffirmed my problem again with her and the bottom line is that she said that she would research the issue and call me back in about 3 to 5 business days. I basically restated everything I sent in my email and I clarified the problem even further.

I told her that the bottom line is that I ordered 20-Way seats on my car and it was supposed to be standard, and I got 18-Way seats instead, and that BMW never bothered to notify the dealers or the customers of this change.

I also have my dealer working on this and she asked me if I had contacted my dealer already as well.

I made it clear that what I am looking for is an official statement from BMW about what happened and that I want the problem rectified on the M5.

We'll see what happens in 3 to 5 days.

Stay cool brothers and sisters.

I finally heard back from someone at BMWNA. Basically, he said this issue needs to involve the regional manager. I'm supposed to be hearing back from him and scheduling a time I can bring my car in for him to have a look. I will keep you guys posted.

After sending in the email last weekend, I finally got to speak to a resolution specialist from BMW NA.
She said this issue now has been elevated to corporate level at BMW NA.
She said someone from NJ coporate office will be looking into this and contact customers, who have filed complaint emails/letters, in next couple days with a resolution.

I think we need to continuously emphasize that this missing feature is important so that BMW NA decides to correct this problem.
So I urge all of you to send in emails/letters if you haven't done so already.
Thanks!

That's true. All they will do is say "sorry" and give everyone a coupon good for one free carwash Even if someone will initiate a class action lawsuit and BMW will lose it, all they'll do is pay some form of monetary compensation, but noone can force them to retrofit seats to existing models and people cannot do retrofit by themselves because this will automatically void the warranty and might affect the car insurance in some way (due to "unapproved" user modification potentially affecting the safety features of the seat, or something like this).
