Lol. Man...you've got some interesting situations. Live at home, has several cars of various quality and dumping the M after a handful of months.

Refer to my response above (page 1). He's not asking about MPG. He's asking how much RANGE one can expect from one tank. They're not necessarily directly related.

I think I understand the OP's question. One of my pet peeves is having to stop for gas on a trip. I have a second home which is about 450 miles away. If the M5 could make that distance on one tank it would be great. So, bottom line, I don't care what the average MPG is, rather I care about the range on one tank. Either way, I'll keep my M5 thank you. OP I think your question is legit.

yes im not concerned with mpg,,,,, i asked the question initially as i was just wondering how far i may be able to travel on trips before i have to fill it up again....it would appear that on long cruises without much deviation in speed....i can expect up to the 400 range vs more city driving one can expect up to the 300 range.....good input from you all

I avg 11.6 mpg so I guess I drive like a hooligan . It's still better than the V10 with the 16 gallon tank, filling up at 1/4 tank was every 90 miles lol .

I do mostly city driving and I average about 12 mls a gal although the computer shows 8.5 - 9 depending on how hard i drive and about 220-240mls per tank. On the highway I get 22-24 mls/gal.

I averaged 24 MPG on a roundtrip drive from NJ to Ohio. I'll take that considering how thirsty this car is.

Right now I am getting 13.9 a gallon. Mostly city driving in ATL. Taking it on a road trip soon with mostly interstates so will track it during the trip.
