CAFE = no V10, shed a few hundred pounds and give it a 5-7% increase in power over 30 jahre and you have one killer successor to F10 M5.

Perhaps hybrid assist with cylinder deactivation?

I wouldn't necessarily say that. Perhaps with the M models being configured in 4 cyl it wouldn't take well. But some of the most popular cars currently are 228i/328i/528i all with the N20 power plant. In fact I can't wait for our 228i to replace our 08 328xi. The 240hp N20 is ten times more fun.

Sorry to break it for you but N/A engines are in the past. Turbo/Hybrid is the future.

Lower weight due to following same philosophy as F80 and BMWs increased usage of carbon fiber.

Hybrid V10 power plant due to experience with performance hybrid i8 platform. I hope no turbos, they would muffle the V10 exhaust sound that we all want.

and.....

AWD!

600hp 600tq AWD 4000lbs G10 M5

Compare to GTR Nismo:

600hp 481tq AWD 3883lbs (0-60 2.9sec)

I hope it's true because BMW sometimes doesn't make that they say. Howerever it would be a great news but BMW , please, stop with TURBO regarding the ///M models. hope the V10 will be atmospheric.
I don't understand why BMW hasn't a supercar. It's unworthy for a such manufacturer as BMW.

I disagree I think the V8TT is a special engine. Especially when it pulls away from those loud V10's.

Hell yeah, V10TT sounds great.

For the naysayers here, just search some videos on YouTube about TT Lamborghinis... TT+V10.

M5 Touring... It's about time. M3 Touring, why not? I know this isn't in the topic, but C-Class Touring needs a competitor...

Can't wait for more info on this!

Didn't see this first time around... I know people have alluded to things previously but wow, cannot wait to see what BMW pitch against the 650S, guessing it'll have hybrid too

From Webster's online dictionary.......

1ruˇmor noun \ˈrü-mər\
: information or a story that is passed from person to person but has not been proven to be true

For all those drooling over the idea of a G30 V10, and did NOT read the first word of the Thread title.

Carry on.

I think everybody here realize that we are discussing a rumour, not fact...

Also, @Scott26 is more "in the know" than many know (considering how his previous "rumours" have later been proven to be correct...).

For all I know, this might be part of a BMW survey to get feedback from the enthusiasts on preferred engine layout...
And going by how slow the response was here, BMW probably can conclude that this isn't a big deal to the enthusiasts

RS4 has a V8, C AMG will have a V8, BMW M3 with only 6 cyl
They should go back to a V8! It's an M, not a 335/340i!
