Service Manuals
When I've owned other non-BMW vehicles, full shop service manuals eventually find their way into the information streams (like posted on forums, etc).
Is this a similar expectation with BMWs and the M5? Or have these traditionally been closely 'guarded' and not distributed by BMW? {this came to mind when I saw the post asking about lug nut torque specs...} |

From my experience, they usually dont publish the service guides for these cars. Bentley is able to come out with one roughly 6 years AFTER initial launch. Honestly, the best info I get is usually off of DIYs via the posts on forums such as this one and BIMMERFEST.COM. On a seperate note, I mentioned there was a fairly decent Service Advisor at Century in Huntsville I use. His name is Rick Waugh, he is the only one I'll deal with there. He generally knows M Cars and what is needed and ensures your satisfaction. Give him a try. |
