S63TU Injector Replacement

Blackstone reported a lot of fuel in the oil. Did the oil change at 4,000 miles and 8 month spread. Took the car to the dealer as there is warranty on the injectors (10 years / 120,000miles). They didn't find any codes and no oil in the current oil (of course new oil is only 100 miles old, old oil was the one tested...) and because the car is tuned (BM3 stage 1) they said even if they bench test the injectors BMW won't cover them. So I will go ahead and buy a new set and get them installed. Don't want to risk anything. Does anyone have any experience with the 3 options available? One is Bosch vs Genuine (which I thought was the same anyway except 3 times the price but same part number). Is there is a way to see if the current ones are EU5 or EU6 on the car by using Protool or Bimmercode? Thank youName: Screenshot 2023-08-04 at 5.31.55 AM.png

I have not tried this myself but I have read where others used a borescope camera and was able to read the print of the injector. The best method is with BMW's ISTA. If you are an android user check this out. https://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2003759

When you buy the injectors get the package that has the decoupling rings.

I am asking because mine smells like gas sometimes, but blackstone reports indicate little to no gas in it.

Could be blow-by, basically piston rings are not holding everything in the cylinder like it should. A leakdown test could tell you if you are are not holding pressure.

We have 3 Petrol and 1 Ford Super Duty Diesel. For the petrol cars we have been using liquimoly product but can't recall what we use for the diesel. Thankfully the diesel is an older truck and doesnt have a dpf and doesn't do regen cycles but we keep a fuel system cleaner in it.

I'll see if I can get these from costco. Speaking of costco they are a top tier gas station, at least in my area. If I remember correctly they have 3 to 5 fuel additives in their Petrol.

Over here the Costco premium gas is just 97RON,when minimum is 98 needed for M5 and it's with ethanol at 5% added which is not good for M5 engine seals and injectors.
I use a new fuel, Texaco Supreme 99 Performance at 99RON with no added ethanol at the last test on it. This fuel is only at selected Texaco stations one which is 3 miles from me and ethanol free to which I add the portion of Redex when I fill up. It's especially good before the yearly engine test as its claimed to reduce emissions as well as protecting the fuel system and injectors also cleaning up burnt deposit stains in the engine where present.

That is great news abut the texaco fuel. In my area it is hard to find 93 octane ethanol free. Boat marinas sell it but even then the higher octane is hard to find at them.

If you want a good injector cleaner in the US go with Berryman B12 Injector Cleaner. Works great and low price.

I think your gas stations there are Chevron Texaco who merged and you have the Techron additive in all of the Texaco gas.

Mine does too sometimes, and Blackstone showed no fuel in the oil. But I am curious as to where the gasoline smell comes from, other than, of course, just further refining oil until gasoline results. A friends '16 pure metal with 8k miles on it also smells like fuel in the oil cap. That's small sample but does anyone's oil cap *not* smell a little like gasoline?

Smelt the oil cap before an oil change and no gas smell.
