Front License Plate

It has been over 10 years since I installed a front plate here in NJ.

Well, yesterday in the M5, I received two, yes 2, separate tickets in separate towns for not having a front plate installed.

Needless to say, I had the plate installed today.

So stupid.

Did you use a bolt on bracket anchored in the tow hook receiver?

Nope

Used the oem mounting bracket.

It was painful to see the bumper getting drilled but it is what it is

What towns wrote the tickets? I want to be sure to avoid them!

I don't understand why they drill the bumper!

Couple (or few more than a couple) of double sided sticky pads holds just fine, even thru the weather here in UK

I changed my plate a few months ago to find 6 holes, theres 4 behind the current plate. Looks like they couldn't make their mind up so kept drilling!

I never had a front plate on my M3 which I drove throughout NJ extensively for over 4 years. Although I avoided shitholes like Metuchen.

I don't have one on my M5 either.

edit: looks like the OP got his car from Freehold, NJ so maybe he's in the central/south jersey area. the cops tend to be a little more bored there.

I haven't had front plates on any of my cars, but its just bad luck. I've been ok for over 15 years. Quite honestly it's a nice point that cops usually find as a "lesser" ticket and give me tinted windows tickets instead of the speeding ticket i should have got. 3 tinted windows tickets in the past year alone and i'm thankfull for them. My family member gold cards usually sway it in that direction.
