PS. I see that you do not have the green euro registration sticker in the lower right corner of your windshield. Did you remove that, or did the dealer remove it on prep?
I actually did not driv overseas, wanted to get it here faster, apparently that didnt work. Also did not want to deal with snows since I went in March - so that green sticker was never applied, the delivery specialist handed it to me to take home with me.

However, I did experience a couple trips where it got me to the street, but the wrong house number.

OK, this car is amazing. Like I said, lot of your impressions will be based on what you came from, but for me, a huge step in the right direction. The car is fast as sht, hit 101 mph and swear I was going 65 mph, even my wife commented how comfortable it was. We drove to Newport RI this weekend and the drive up was just bliss, the ride is SO comfortable you forget this car has 560 HP and can tear up most of its 4-door counterparts. LOVE the sound of the exhaust shifting out of first, but wouldn’t mind some more exhaust note at higher speeds/rpms.

For me, Alpine White was the perfect color, I just love how it stands out in a crowd with the Sakhir interior.

Still getting used to the throttle, it kind of sucked in traffic, I found the car bucked a bit in first gear unless I really let off lightly, had to switch over to auto for a bit. Also still getting used to how much throttle to apply when moving from a dead stop at a light or stop sign, I expected to need less throttle, perhaps bc I used efficient much of the time.

Made it to Newport, Rhode Island and back to West New York, NJ on just one tank of gas, now that’s range.

For me, this is currently the perfect car and with no physical changes with the LCI other than a grill which will be interchangeable, zero regrets on not waiting (would not have gotten competition package - this is more than enough car for me in stock form).

I don't think she's right about the startup procedure. I think you can start with a single press if you apply the brake first. However I'm not certain because the startup process is in my limbic brain - i.e. its a reflex action and the conscious part of my brain knows nothing about it!
Yes you can get into the car, put foot on brake, and press the button and it starts. But for some reason the manual states to do it in two steps. First, turn on all the accessories, then depress brake to start car. Probably doesnt matter, but since I dont have a routine yet, Ill just do it that way, especially since my wife points out to me when I dont do it that way.

DCT compared to C63?

I see you had a C63 previously as well. How would you compare the transmission to the C63 mainly in auto mode? I know the manual mode is no comparison.

But when I have it in S+ (2012 C63), I actually really enjoy the C63's transmission especially the loud "farts" when it downshifts.

Does the DCT behave the same way in auto mode? I only got to drive it once and I couldn't really test it out the way I wanted to. Also, the salesman wasn't really educated on the tranny so he wasn't much help either (non BMW dealership).

Thanks.

My C63 was pre-LCI, so no MCT, it was just a pure auto. But having had SMG before, the auto mode with DCT is pretty advanced, its just like driving a true automatic transmission almost.

The one thing I do miss about the C63 is the exhaust note, especially when downshifting, you wont get that with the stock M5 exhaust. I down shifted couple times, but it was a pretty mild pop. I did not downshift at higher speeds/rpms though due to break in.

Question - I haven't had an opportunity to sit in the car with the manual and set things

Does the car always start in the lowest settings? Efficient, Comfort, Comfort? I know once I set my M1 and M2 buttons I can just hit those, but is there a way to make it start up in more aggressive settings?

thx

I dunno about you, but everytime I start up the car, D Mode will always be D1, and S Mode will always in the last mode I had it in before I shut down the car.
