Thumbs down Front License Plate Options: Which is the Least Awful?

After getting harassed by the local police for no front plate, I may need to finally cave in and put one on my F10 M5. I have always resisted this because U.S. front plates look like shit but it looks like I won't have a choice.

That being said, I'm desperate for alternatives to the traditional ugly front license plate bracket. I Googled around for any type of retractable front license plate kit but couldn't find anything that is designed to work while the vehicle is moving. Other searching led me to a tow hook front license plate bracket, but I'm not sure if it will interfere with the front parking sensors.

Appreciate any feedback or advice!

Someone here has a retractable plate, but simplest version is US Millworks - high quality and they now have a quick release tow hook mount. It does NOT interfere with PDC.

That would be me! Best mod ever especially when you live in the "plate nazi" state of NY.
Heres my recent thread with the video of my show and go retractable plate.

Thanks for the lead! Does it work well deployed while the car is at speed (especially on windy days)?

I usually use it when im parked on the street because the meter maids will definitely give a ticket for no front plate, i have deployed it while driving but i really wasnt going that fast so i dont know how it would work if i deployed at high speed. Once it is deployed tho it is pretty sturdy and has soft backings in case it does touch the bumper.

In Houston meter maids cant give any no front lp tickets. Besides their inky concerned when the time is up on the meter box. I think that's a sad way for the city to get money off of people.

Funny: being European, I think US plates are wonderful. I live in Texas, where have a ton of choice for colours, designs, etc. And they are small plates. I always think it's odd that there are Americans that despise having US front plates but then slap on a fake German plate which is twice as big!

Texas has a nice plate though, love the black and white. NJ's are hideous.
