JB4 USB routing

Hi All --

Has anyone had any luck routing the USB cable for the JB4 to through the glovebox? Was looking for an option to run through the firewall on the passenger side but can't seem to find one.

The alternative is to run an extension and go passenger->driver->firewall->passenger->glovebox, but that seems a bit out of the way.

The goal was to have an extension run through the firewall to make a quick disconnect of the unit easy in the engine bay.

TIA
Brad

On the driver side there is a hole through the firewall where your hood latch go through. I heard you can access it by removing the knee airbag. Also heard there is one behind the driver side glove box (small one).

I personally haven't looked yet. I need to route my OBD cable. I went Bluetooth on the JB4 so I can use the JB4 iPhone app

Any reasons to or not route the OBD2 cable?
Can the bluetooth kit + app still be used without OBD2 being routed?

The USB cable can be replaced with the Bluetooth unit that BMS offers. However, the OBDII does need to be routed into the cabin. Its pretty easy.

Just wanted to make sure, so in order to use Bluetooth kit and have the usb cable features just need to route the OBD2 thru firewall.

Thanks

Yeah, the JB4 has 2 connections. One connection goes to the BCM, OBD, and Sensors. The other to the mobile/computer application which can be over Bluetooth or DB9 to USB.

In order for the JB4 to work period, you need to have it connected to the OBD. I am sure you can use a stage 1 setup without the OBD but to use any of the other maps and features it needs to be hooked up.

No problem. I did make an edit. Changed from input/output to two connections. Keep it simple
