Man sorry to hear that bad news. Did they give you any trouble for replacement. Can't see why our axels are sissyfied.

Sorry man but I think we already had discussed about something like this here:
http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthr...1218119&page=2
And I clearly mentioned the axle...

Sorry this happened, but great that you're covered by warranty. I am confused though, the picture you post is your driveshaft, right? It is the driveshaft that broke? You're just getting the axles as a precaution? Does The Driveshaft Shop make an upgraded F10 M5 driveshaft too?

Dealer was willing to replace broken axles caused by too much horsepower (modified with aftermarket parts by a non-dealer)? Interesting

I don't have any power upgrades yet, but I keep my cars long term, so I'll probably invest in axles and a driveshaft for longevity. Did the clutch pack in the differential allow you to drive at all with the one broken axle? Or did it just freewheel?

I don't think that clutch works the way you expect... Also I believe if an axle is broken, ECU will not allow any movement for safety purpose...

I have a set of OEM cores and can send to DSS.

I have the 1200hp axles and they work fine... 1.5 60' and hard launches!

PM me if you like as you need a working core to be upgraded.

It's inevitable they will break at the 700whp+ level.... its just when. Upgrade it pro-actively and saves you the downtime.

Maybe that works on dct since it has more variables and sensors.

I know when i bought car at 1700 miles then 500miles later clutch n flywheels was shot. The car wont ALLOW me into gear. But if i shut car off put it on gear i can start at that gear and move.
When the clutch n flywheel was shot.
Inwas 80miles from my dealer i drove it in 3rd gear cruise at 60 and was able to park it at dealer. Previous owner prolly didnt not know how to drive it as he traded it for dct. Now car is 26k miles later. It has no problems on shifting n gearing

We are talking about clutch in LSD differential and not gearbox... Yeah I know even without clutch at flywheel you can even change the gear at specific RPM...

This is a good sign; the axles go before the engine and DCT. How much boost or HP were you running when they broke?

Buy cores.. $800 (its like $1500 at the dealer)
Send to DSS... spend $1100 or something like that
Sell your cores to the next person who breaks 'em

Idk about that he's within the margin of what the GTR can take hp wise assuming he's around 780-800whp...

Axles go because of how the power comes on or he just got some weak ones.

But I'm sure if these guys push much into the 900whp/850+wtrq and have the power come on wrong you'll see rods start coming through the block. But who knows maybe it can take 1000+whp lol

Seems everyone in here is afraid to do it which doesn't bode well for the community or allowing the aftermarket to develop alternatives.
