On another point that I was NOT making but you did bring up, people at this price point will be attracted to the S63's, the S65's, the Panamera Turbos, Maserati's, Bentley's etc. etc. At that point in the price range I feel you stop looking at the whole "oh the panamera is a hatchback the M5 is a sedan" as well as the "the S class is a 7 series competitor not the 5's competition" arguement because you are getting to an outlier price point. Just a thought. A lot of individuals may choose those over the M5. (flame on!) |

Goodness............I wonder what it will run in Canada?? (And I know the CDN $ is par with the US $, which will make the official price in Canada that much harder to take.)

I am a bit confused why everyone is assuming there will be $25K worth of options? look at the X5M and what is standard, only about $5K of options on top of that. E60 came pretty loaded too, and I am pretty sure you couldn't put more than $10K of options onto that either. The most expensive usually being full leather which I am okay skipping.

Anyone else surprised that the price actually went up for this model? I mean the E60 had a purpose built engine and transmission, as such a high price was expected. Everything in the F10 though is off the shelf, how is it more expensive?

For once could they not keep from hiking up the price. With the last E60 M5 they had already done a fair amount of increase. I guess at this rate next M5 will be $100K
That scares me to think that upcoming new M3 will be base price close to $62-65K at this rate
