Which exhaust gives the most percussion?
So for the M5/M6, which exhaust gives the most snap, crackles, and pops?
I love my M5 greatly but really wish it had the artillery noises to compete with my wife's Jag F-type. I realize they are doing some additional trickery in the Jag to add to the pops with late fuel and other things, however, I feel like our M5s should be able to be more competitive in the percussion symphony challenge. I realize we have had threads on "loudness" but I'm no much interested in "loudness" as I am the snap crackle and pops. Comments and opinions welcome, but video of the sound to backup your opinion are also appreciated. |

I had it on my M5 and it was crazy!!! I have a M6 now with Akropovic exhaust and AMS downpipes and it still does not sound like the Rpi. Plenty of videos on YouTube |

Yes the Unresonated GTM cracks, pops, and gargles like no other out there. I've heard every kind of setup on the planet. Even custom shop made full straight pipe exhausts for the F10 M5 still don't sound the same as the RPi GTM and I've heard those too. Even on my drive to work, I can be stuck in bumper to bumper traffic and if I keep the transmission in 1st gear and run the car up to 15mph I still get a lot of burbles, cracks and pops when I let off the gas to slow back down in traffic. Living with that sound every day is pure joy and it's what purist dreams are made of. Surprisingly the sound of the exhaust got even better when I disabled the Active Sound Design. I can now hear exactly everything that the exhaust is doing even with the windows up. It's so much fun. The secret lies in the design of the RPi Exhaust itself from the mid section to axle back with the way that the pipes are shaped in the rear to the tips. With no mufflers, all of the gases and sound waves are able to flow out of the tips without any restriction in sound or pressure. I love the RPi GTM almost as much as I loved the RPi GT exhaust system on the E60 M5, but I only loved that one more because of the V10.

RPI is definitely a solid choice. Another option is Meisterschaft with the LX Mid Pipes.
Feel free to PM if you need help!

I have the Eisenmann and it's pretty good too. The Sport is tame for the most part unless you WOT it and not too much in your face just like the beast. Very much in line with the character of the car. The F-type is loud, I doubt the M5 will sound better or like it. But then the F-type doesn't feel as solid as the M5. It's more hollow looking as an overall package. If you're talking sound, then the AMG GTS is something else and worth comparing to, not that Jag The SVR edition might be what makes me take it seriously in future.
As I've spent more time with the beast, I've come to appreciate (even more) its subtleties. Hopefully, the next gen will have various exhaust sound mode options like the porsches and the amg gts.

GT HAUS full catless setup is the best for what you are describing you are looking for.
I have it but no sound clips but each event I go to, everyone asks to hear the exhaust !!! |
