All about RESONATORS DELETE & Competition Package Mufflers?
Hello M5 forum members -
A quick question please I am thinking about pulling the trigger on CP OEM Mufflers that are for sale for less than 1k But my question for you is? How much is the gain going to be on top of my 2014 LCI Non Competition with Exhauste Meister that I will probably keep for the CP Mufflers? Any input from someone who had listened to both CP and Non CP LCI 2014 both? As I believe LCI Non CP is louder than 2013 anyway. Thank you And if any of you have them for sale and can give me a better deal too let me know I will pay using Paypal.

listened to both!
all the guys saying its louder, trying to justify a fraction of 7.3k or whatever the price of CP option is its tiny bit louder, but not the way they describe it u will have placebo effect nothing else u wont hear much difference, but you will think you got a crazy difference, because you paid around 1k for mufflers + labour, however after 1 week of driving u wont be able to notice any difference at all and you will start biting your elbows. plus stock exhaust is 1 piece, if you are willing to cut your exhaust to weld in CP mufflers, you better cut resonators out and then weld them back in, when you need to return your car. some people say they get a bit of drone, some people say they dont get any drone. best bang for the buck would be e-sport/e-race backbox search for used exhaust, eisenmann holds value if you buy used and easy to sell, like hot pies. |

The sound increase is noticeable but still maintains stealthiness with a lower growl and a small bump in db. During my ED heads would turn when driving by at low to mid rpm ranges.
The sound is not like akra or any of the others that are meant to be more noticeable head turners from a few blocks. As far as hp gain I would say less than 5??? One more benefit Is the black chrome tips. They look great on the car.

Any less MPG? Any power loss feeling? Looked at it again then still did it because you hesitated because of possible power loss and back pressure and turbo spooling issues? |

i dont even have back box/mufflers and my bangs are louder than yours in other words i have no place for pressure to build up and my car was pulling much stronger than any m5 i raced, even before i added dp's |

Have a listen to the CP videos in the following post (1st & 3rd); this may give you some idea of how the CP exhaust sounds from inside the car: - http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=952248 Many of the aftermarket exhaust options have better sound/dBs than CP. |

What happened after resonators delete? Please elaborate I can't wait to hear feedback on that - Does it have to be SS pipes? Low RPM? HIGH RPM? Cabin? Outside? Downshifts and up shifts? |

But What you mean SS pipes? FROM 3000RPM IF I LET GO of the exhaust it pops really loud and sounds gorgeous. High rpm has a extremely loud pop and you hear it in the cabin but there is no nasty drone. Outside is a lot better to be honest. it sounds better on up shifts but at 3000rpm IF I let go there is a loud drone pop but its sounds nice. Cold start I will post a video of it soon. But Here is the video I sent you for a normal start with some revs. |

Aside from the black exhaust tips, the only property difference of the CP muffler is that the baffling has been removed. That's it, so don't expect an actual performance gain.
I've been generally satisfied with my CP exhaust, but would certainly welcome something louder. It's more aggressive than some give it credit, once you listen to it from an onlooker's perspective. You might check how difficult it is to simply open your existing muffler and remove the baffling. Probably not simple, but I have no idea. Definitely not a $1000 job, however. In the end, I think you will be much happier getting a real exhaust that can easily be returned to stock form at the end of your lease.
