F10 m5 fueling issue ?

Hi I’m getting code p142e and p0087. I changed the coil packs spark plugs both hpfp, previous owner said he just replaced the lpfp. I changed bank 1 high pressure sensor as well because I’m getting a code for bank 1. The left side of he engine runs fine and the right also. On wot the right side will throw those codes and sputtter into Limp mode. When the car is cold or drives fine but once it gets hot it start shutting down bank 1 and i will have to wait about 30 min for the car to start back up.

If you had just changed the hpfp i'm assuming its a bad connection or bad sensor

Somewhere in the install something must have been done incorrectly if the parts are brand new.

I would think it’s impossible to install it incorrectly. It was very easy. Just push the pump in screw it down evenly. Cut the old wires and splices the new adapter onto the wires. Car only messes up on wot or when it’s super hot outside

This is what bmw said when i took it there. Lpfp was just replaced by previous owner so i don’t see how it could be lpfp. “TEST DROVE , VERIFIED CUSTOMERS CONCERN , CONNECTED CHARGER DID SHORT TEST , FOUND HPFP FAULTS BANK , RAN ABL , TESTED LOW SIDE FUEL PUMP 1ST , FAILED TEST DID NOT SEND ENOUGH FUEL OR PRESSURE , ALOS PASSENGER SIDE OR BANK 1 HPFP WAS REPLACED AT NO BMW APPROVED FACILITY NO HISTORY WITH NO DEALERSHIP FOR REPAIR”

You need to hook up the pressure tester and test the lpfp while your car acting up. The symptom sound like a bad fuel pump, a defective fuel pump is not unheard of.

You’re right i should do that. Previous owner side he had the same issue that’s why he changed it. Rail pressure is 37 on one bank and the other bank is 55 with car off

Okay I guess it's an lci non-comp. What I'm thinking first is basics to get them out the way,air filters changed recently? and your fuel filter is in the gas tank could there be something there at that mileage and of course check the MAF's and clean if oily.

I just looked at the rail pressure and when it’s first started it’s reading 700 psi and up but when it starts dying it drops to about 30 psi so maybe it’s a lpfp problem

Tricky one and the previous owner claims the lpfp was changed makes one think a faulty pump idk, new items can be faulty and he got the proof that it was changed.. It's in the gas tank I gather on US models
On UK models the fuel filter is under the floor at passengers front seat, I had mine changed at BMW at 25k.

He has no proof. I will change the lpfp tomorrow and see what happens fingers crossed. Bmw said the lpfp was not supplying enough fuel to the hpfpName: 67F55ADE-E3C2-4B9F-8701-61AB093DADE9.jpg
