You expert guys with CAR ADD please chime in

Guys, Many of you know I traded my M6 4 month ago for this baby M car
Since then as much as I enjoy the nimbleness of this M4 and the fun of Manual Transmission, I have missed the power of M6... I mean I test drove many high performance cars (McLaren, Ferrari, 911) at the time I was driving my M6 but to be honest with you none of them could catch my eyes and I had very blessing feeling when I would go back and sit behind the wheel of M6 and smash the gas pedal. BUT know I need a fun car with more power (well let say more power/weigh ratio) than M4 to feel that craziness again when car could reach 60 mph in less than 4 second
M4 will be traded for the next gen of M6 in 1-2 years but by that time I need some toys :thump:
I know many of you have experience with more than one of these options. Yessss I know I know the big CAR ADD guys here (I didn't say VIC, did I? ) has experience with 3 of them and others have experience with one or two and that's why I started this thread to see pros and cons...

So the options are:

1. 570S: To be honest with you I'm sold to this McLaren car, but there is only one issue which is unfortunately a big issue especially here in north. Maybe it was not that big of issue in OC... It's how Vic said" Hey look at me" car.
2. 458:Ferrari is the second rank in my list. It's not as flashy as McLaren but still too much flashy.
3. 911 GT3: Oh I love the high rev NA on this car... The issue with this car is that I'm not a Porsche guy at all but I have heard so much positive things about this car. more practical that the first two right?
4. R8 V10: Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful with V10 NA. The issue? its AWD ...
I know Audi has the lowest rank in comparison with other manufacturers but R8 is and always has been the other league in Audi entire lineup.

Now you see the confusion...
Your thoughts highly appreciated...

It was a toss-up for me between the 991 and 570s - I LOVED the McLaren but was anxious how usable it would be for the very thing you stated - the 'look at me' factor.

In addition, depreciation on the 570s is not yet understood (it matters to me) and the +2 seats on the 991 pushed me towards the purchase.

On your poll, I would still rate the 570s as #1 over the rest of the field.

Really you had to pick these 4 cars? Ha they are all great and all have advantages in certain categories. I have too much bias here already owning 3 of the 4 so Ill just say this:

Not in any order but thoughts the way you listed:

1. 570S- the best of the lot in performance from a roll. While the depreciation factor is unknown I have early reports that there are heavy discounts throw down already (circa 20k). But if you get this car you understand the loss in monetary value and the gain in intrinsic value. I would have considered this car if it wasnt so closely related to the Huracan in flash factor and I wanted V10 song.

2. 458-Great car, interior not so much (dated electronics, plastic feel), but F car says it all. Pricing will be good on resale but that means getting one is going to be more pricey and warranty is probably going to be out. While I liked mine alot, I didnt drive it enough and it too fell into the "flashy" category. But it was an honor to own one along with the FF.

3. GT3- Ill be honest, probably the one that got away from me too soon but I sold it for over msrp and got an equally amazing car IMHO= GTS. While shopping for the R8 I was considering this car but the used ones didnt excite me enough and in reality this is a track car that can be street driven. Its a 9/10ths car so you need to be on the rpms at all times to get the most out of it (which I liked but didnt always have the opportunity with traffic). The interior is classic Porsche but some dated electronics also. This car also holds its value well so you will pay a higher price up front for a used car.

4. R8- well duh!!! The all arounder, AWD which I love for grip launches turns. I have other cars for hooligan fun but this car just sticks. The Magneride is pristine, unbelievably comfortable for a car that sits so low and has such a sports car intent. The engine is amazing, the V10 response, roar, shreik, etc. Its just great and the last of the real NA cars out there being sold as new. The interior is fantastic, plush, sporty and the electronics, while not perfect, are still great and functional. I always felt my 2012 R8 had tremendous grip and this car is even better. The DCT is completely revamped and the tq splits are heavily rwd biased unless you need the grip. Its the daily driver Huracan without the dreaded understeer or the wildness that the H has. Its classy in looks and aggressive at the same time. Again this is a biased opinion because I just got it but I have owned 2 others above and they too brought much joy. This car just makes so much sense right now for me.

What about a nearly new 650s? Does that not feature in the mix? It makes me smile every time I drive it and I get way more thumbs up than down...

Re your m4... I'm with you and miss the M5 grunt over the M3. How about a few mods to release some more torques and ponies.. Vic can surely guide you in that direction too

Brand new one??? Surely not... macca are certainly devaluing their cars and screwing over existing owners with the number of new models coming out and frequency of replacements, but you have to say their cars are pretty epic. Maximum penis-fizz factor

I have seen some untitled demonstrators with large cuts like above but a brand new one only has about 11% in the car. There was a few higher msrp cars that the dealer was trying to dump. I dont know if there is any dealer cash on these cars right now.

Brand new 2016. It was $248K MSRP as it had all the carbon options, Ventura Orange, Bowers-Wilkins etc. He threw out $198K.... I said No.

Used ones (2-3K miles) are in the $170-$180K. At $150K may consider.

This was a McLaren dealer....

Cool I figured it would be since it was new and a 16.... I think there is indeed factory money on the 16's. The AMG GTS has a 5 figure trunk money on 16's. Looks like the Mac's are just not moving.

Edit: you must have been at Beverly Hills, they have soooooo many 16's in both the 570 and 650. Man those cars are such performers too.

Can you pick up a 650s for less than a 570s now?

No because both cars have trunk money (16's) so a highly discounted 650S is still gonna in the lower 200's and the highly discounted the 570s will be in the higher 100's. Either way these are great lease cars for those who can endure the car for the entire term. Of course the depreciation curve on the 650s is greater than the 570s but so is the starting point in pricing.

I voted for the R8, however I think the best choice is really the 911 Turbo S. Not sure why youre considering the GT3 over the TTS for a street car. TTS is a much better all rounder and on the street is probably faster all round than all the others because the power is so accessible in city driving.

There are a lot of TTS vs R8 compare videos. Check them out.

I have driven the 911 GT3 and the R8 (V10) on the track ... can't say the same for the others on the list. Ferarri maybe a bit flashy unless an older model, Mclearan ... well other than the tec, the looks did nothing for me.

The 911GT3 is amazing!!

R8 is amazing too, but for me I need rear seats to make it work with kids. :dri nk:

I would say the 911 GT3.. I would like it as well ... but read not a cabio and can't put boosters for two boys in back for long drives ... but there are 3 of them that I know of at the track I am a member of ... or look at the Caymann GT3, a friend of mine has that as a track car ... it is crazy! We call him the cone hunter for the number of cones he takes down with the rush of air (he says) and front lip (we say) ... the Cayman is small, lots of power, great handling and has a very aggressive look and sound.

But I have to agree with you M6 Coupe, the M6 is a very well all around car with lots of power and room for such a PHAT PIG ... but big girls need loving too ... just need to know how to handle and dress them ... LOL ... says the 140 lb skinny guy

OPTIONS, OPTIONS and FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS ... LIFE SUCKS

Its classy in looks and aggressive at the same time. Again this is a biased opinion because I just got it but I have owned 2 others above and they too brought much joy. This car just makes so much sense right now for me.

LIFE SUCKS
Dude - you.make it seem like you really know the GT3 well and choose it over the R8 because of the rear seats.

However if you had really spent any time with a GT3 you would know that the GT3 has no rear seats. Porsche does not fit rear seats in any GT models.

Here ya go

If GT go RS or Audi V-10. Sounds like you want a second fun car.

Like The 570

Two things suck depreciation, and lack of dealer support which has kept me away. My third Porsche only dealer trips have been for oil change no issues at all.

"I would say the 911 GT3.. I would like it as well ... but read not a cabio and can't put boosters for two boys in back for long drives ... " cut and pasted from my last post and highlighted

I guess if you read it FAST you would miss the meaning ... can't put booster seats in back if there are no back seats!!!

I guess reading is secondary and sarcasm is a quick draw ... shoot first and think after

M6 Coupe ... ever consider the new Mercedes AMG C63s (rear drive) or the soon to be released AMG E63s

maybe a stint on the dark side would be interesting
