Help guys! I noticed an oil leak coming from under the dash, right over the foot pedal rest. Its clean oil and apparently its been there for a while because I replaced to factory foot rest and it soaked on the plastic and the carpet underneath. Now its dripping on top of the new foot rest. Its a very slow drip/leak.

Has this happened to anyone here before or maybe something similar?

Clean oil? Like brake fluid?

Oil does not come into the passenger compartment. The only thing it could be is brake fluid pushing passed the seal, running down the pushrod and dripping on something causing it to drip on the foot rest. How many miles on the car? Seems odd for that to happen. Any work recently on brakes or master cylinder?

It could be break fluid. Clean, clear with a hint of yellow. The car only has 40k miles and there is no alert from the computer. The only thing done recently is a state inspection which I highly doubt is that invasive.

Sounds like what you have is a leak in the brake master cylinder, and the brake fluid is dripping onto the underdash cover and then coming down over by the dead pedal. You need to get that fixed since your brakes are going out, and also brake fluid is quite damaging to paint and plastics.
