The undersides are different between the 550 and M. It could work, but will take some custom fab to make it happen.

Good to know. It sounds like pretty much any M5 exhaust (stock as well) would need slight adjustments to fit on a 550i (and it's been done plenty).

Last question. Would the exhaust header design and turbo configuration differences between the N63 and S63 engines affect the no-drone feature of the AWE mufflers?

It's totally possible as the 180 Technology® configurations are mapped out differently for each application/motor. I can't say yes or no since we haven't physically tested, I'm afraid.

That's my beast from yesterday's install at AWE's office

The AWE Touring setup really brings out the proper tone from our engines. Plenty of muscle but not overly aggressive, and no drone. Seriously, ZERO drone. I can't imagine what it will sound like in 500-1000 miles after a good carbon buildup, when it already sounds amazing. Hats off to AWE who took all the time needed to perfectly install my exhaust, test drive, and tweak some more, before finally releasing the car back to me. AWEsome job and AWEsome product!!!

We are very happy with the tone and power our Touring Edition system produces. We will only be offering this system at this time.
So this is an axle back?

I had awe non res on my M4 and loved it. Wish you had the same package for the M6.

Mine fit like a glove (okay, very minor modification to the hangers). Any competent exhaust shop can make it work.

Also adding that there is still ZERO DRONE at any RPM with catless downpipes.

FYI for anyone in the pursuit for drone-less rumble:

We have an F10 Touring Edition Axle-back (either diamond black or chrome silver tips) fresh from production ready to ship when ordered through a dealer or direct!

If you have questions, or want assistance in getting aligned with a dealer, I am here!

Hey Josh, just emailed you guys today about this exhaust. Is it an out of the box plug ne play or is there more work involved? Would I be able to put my stock back on? Anything extra to do with the augmented sound in the cabin?

Hi! The post-axle factory section will need to be cut (see here for installation guide). Other than that, installation is a breeze. Regarding cabin acoustics: nothing, just enjoy the new soundtrack

Ok cool sounds good and thanks for sharing the instructions. Will I be able to revert back to the stock exhaust if I wanted too?

It's at a factory cut point, so factory sleeve clamps could be used if wanting to revert back to stock.

Thanks Josh. Exhaust arrived in Canada so hopefully install in the coming days. Quick question, what's the size of the box? Will it fit in the M5 trunk?
