What about the M550d?
Unfortunately I own just a diesel F10 184hp but I can have fun with my Duc 848, as the whole video shows!

Sorry, should have been more clear. In lap times...

I could be reading this wrong, but how I see it: the M5 does this about 5 seconds quicker?

5 seconds is a pretty large margin. That being said the 640d isn't slow at all.

+1

5 seconds is a huge margin when total track times are in the 1-2 min range.

Roughly every second on a track is about a football field maybe slightly less. So if you raced somebody and they beat you by 5 football fields, I'd consider that getting your ass handed to you. It doesn't seem like it in times but if you saw a 5 second loss on a track you'd see it's not even close.

5 seconds is huge.

especially considering the m5 is heavier too, isnt it? and was only 1.7ish seconds behind a supercar that weighing like 1000lbs less!!! and costs twice as much?

I feel like the M5 could be a bit faster, I mean it has over 240 more hp, superior suspension, tires, gearbox etc. If it were a 650i, that margin would have been uncomfortably close. Wonder if he did his fast lap time drifting
