R888R on 343M's

I have R888R's coming in on Wednesday for their official stateside launch -- I know the 315's will work on 343M rear...

My question is, will the 285's work on the 9" fronts without much hindrance? I know manufacture spec calls for 9.5-10.5" width.

I know ample amount of folks are running the 888's on rears, just don't know if they're running fronts.

Also looking for the same setup.

You sure the 315 will work on the 343M rear? Just read through all the posts, and it wasn't clear? But possible wont work?

I just have the DTronic S2 installed, and the PSS 295 just can't handle it, almost got me into a crash last night . Desperately need the R888 315 if it works!

The 315 rears do work, spoken with folks that run the setup.

My concern is the fronts.

Thanks for the clarification.

Mind asking why want to go so wide at the front at 285? I thought 275 is should do? Better cornering characteristic?

There's only two sizes made for 888R 20".

285/30/20 and 315/30/20.

From what I have read, can't say I read it all, but pretty much everything on this topic, so far I am getting people are either going stock on the front or aftermarket 9.5 to accommodate the 285 at the front. None has tried what you said so far.

Guess we'll find out tomorrow.

OCD doesn't allow me to run different front and rear.

No rubbing issues on the 285's, I'm stock comp pack ride height. Anything lower would more than likely rub though.

285/30/20 and 315/30/20.
Neither of them work for 343M (M5) but both work for 343M (M6)
My concern is safety while manufacturer suggestion is based on the safety; however there are many people are not following the manufacturer specs and they are happy. In my opinion putting over spec stress on tire is dangerous...

How goes the 315s so far, any rubbing at all? Need some R888s soon, tired of spinning in 3rd lol.

Also are you stock rise height with this setup still?

Garage List
2014 BMW F10 M5  [10.00]
Ran this setup over the summer. R888 315s fit perfect on stock M5 tire. I would have done 275s for fronts, works well.

They don't make 275's.

For those of you running R888R tires (285/30/20 & 315/30/20) on 343M (M5) wheels.. are you all on factory (CP or non-CP) suspension?

I'd like to run this setup, but am lowered on Eibach springs. It's only less than an inch drop all around, but I'm concerned it may still rub.

The only thing these tires are good for is going in a straight line. Had my 315 rear tires on for an hour and had them taken right off. Obnoxiously loud and forget about taking turns without feeling like the sidewall of the tire is folding in half. Just my .02

How do you like feel of it on turns? I'm thinking of doing the same setup but kind of hesitant about 285 R888 in the front is it stiff in the steering wheel?

Ran 315 r888 in the rear in FL daily driving and only lasted 5k miles on 10.5 HRE's....best grip ever and put standard tires in the front for rain traction......there was occasional rubbing since car is lowered ....I am switching to 305 Nitto NT555 G2 to try it out in the rears...

Don't run 315's R888 on anything less than a 11" wide wheel.
