So I got a X3 M4.0i as a loaner
My other car is getting some work done so they hooked it up and gave me a 2019 X3 M4.0i.
I have been driving it extensively and really love it. It's definitely no where near as fast as our f10 m5 but the way it handles and sounds is just amazing. The exhaust setup from factory and the burbles are insane....many people pull up at lights and ask about the car at the light just because of the exhaust. The 8 speed automatic transmission shifts crisp and lightning fast....barely any different from our DCT. It's also smooth no jerkiness at all. The interior is nice too as is the updated the idrive. Only thing I miss is the b/o sound. The sound in the x3 is okay but no way near as nice as b/o. ive spent a lot of time behind many of the latest "performance" suv (X5M, GLE43, RR Autobiography) but this X3 M4.0 hands down most fun out of them all. Never thought the day would come where I would say that about a x3. We are all car guys here and just wanted to share my thoughts. |

The x5M and x6M are great cars too.
Still loving this little thing. The gas mileage is incredible on my commute despite beating on it in sports plus mode in stop and go nyc traffic I'm still yielding 19 mpg. X3M is going to be sick for sure. |

I sold my wife's aging X3 last summer and replaced it with a new X3 M40i.... It is definitely more advanced and a blast to drive. My wife loves it as a daily.... After we got the M40i, it was decided that the X5M was sort of redundant and we really didn't need two SUV anyway (or SAV as BMW likes to call them), so I decided to sell the X5M. This gained a garage space for her to park the M40i inside next to our M4.
Double win! |
