can i gut only the 600 cell cats in OEM downpipes ?

Hello there,

can i gut the 600 Cell cats from the OEM downpipes and rund HCP Flash Stage 2 with the 400 cell ?

Becaus in Germany is stricktly controlled for illegal tuning like catless downpipes.

You certainly could gut the OEM cats, many people have done it since the OEM exhaust has great fitment, doesn't cause waste-gate rattle and is relatively inexpensive.

Yes i know, i have read a lot here about gutting the OEM Downpipes.

But my question is: can i run HCP Stage 2 with 400 cell cats ?

Dont do it, it will ruin your stock downpipe and you will not be able to sell the car unless you buy another stock set (its very expensive BTW)

Also it does not provide a good airflow

If catless is illegal in Germany, gutted downpipes are probably illegal as well

I was about to add that as far as I know any residents' catless vehicles are not allowed in Germany apart from visitors cars from other countries on holiday or passing through.Austria is quite strict also though I'm not sure on classic rated vehicles.

So i can reinstall the original downpipes

This is exactly what I had planned to do when my warranty was up (as I'd have to delete the cat codes with tune) so I'd say go for it and its no different from buying sports cats!
