Another What Type of Oil Should I Use Post?

I currently use the BMW 5W-30 oil (OEM), but it seems that every month my beast is eating another quart. Should I continue to buy OEM or can I buy the Castrol 5W-30 synthetic oil? If I can use Castrol, which synthetic product should I purchase?

You want to use the "german castrol" 0w-30. Far superior to the BMW 5w-30 both at high temps and cold start up. It says European formula on the bottle and is what BMW uses in Germany.

Or, if you are really interested in better oil than the aformentioned...get Mobil 1 0W-40 European Formula...
