My first weekend with Genevieve.
So after 5 long weeks the car arrived, 3 weeks earlier than I had expected it. I left work for two hours on Friday and picked the car up. I was upstairs walking toward a curtain with my CA and when he unveiled the car I couldn't keep from smiling from ear to ear. I had my reservations about SG but when I saw it I couldn't believe how beautiful the color looked in person. Depending on the lighting and how far you are from the car it could look like its black, grey, or blue. And the interior color, sakhir orange, is just to die for.
I put on about 330 miles on the car this weekend and I am happy to report that the F10, in my opinion, is an upgrade from the E60 in every aspect. The DCT transmission that the F10 is fitted with is SO smooth. It shifts unbelievably fast, almost too fast. So fast that if you're not listening for it, from the outside, it would be hard to tell when the car shifted gears. You no longer have to rev the car to 4-4.5k for it to go fast, and to feel the power. And the turbos, what turbos? From my 300 plus miles I experienced little to NONE turbo lag. Dare I say the car drives like it has an NA motor. The car pulls and pulls and keeps on pulling. I can't wait to do my 1200 break in so that I can really open her up. Im actually taking a small road trip to Detroit this weekend, and I've scheduled my 1200 mile service at a dealer there. The stock exhaust sounds good, better than the E60 stock exhaust. But when I installed the eisenmann it was fantastic. The POP you experience when you shift gear at around 5k is awesome! So saturday morning, less than 24 hours of owning the car I took it to IND. We installed the Eisenmann race ecxhaust with the 102mm tips, they're massive! We also changed the front and rear reflectors, front and side grilles, and the rear M5 badge. Later in the day I took it to install 35% tints all around. I left the car at IND last night to paint the door handle trim pieces in SG, and install my H&R springs. I will be picking it up tomorrow night hopefully. I just want to thank everyone at IND because every time I need something, and I am difficult to deal with because I don't have time to get anything done on weekdays, they go out of their way to get things done. Here are a few pictures, I apologize that they're all cell phone pictures. I will have better ones once the springs are installed. And behind curtain #1 Getting ready to install the E-race Outside of IND Stock system with barely 100 miles on it Here are the rest of the pictues Last edited by Sharpie12; 10-29-2012 at 08:46 AM.. |

Congrats - so which exhaust setup did you go with exactly? Did you do just the rear cans? Im trying to get an idea of what that sounds like as I dont plan on doing the center pipes as well, and which tip size, those look perfect.

That's funny. If I gave mine a woman's name, it would be something more German. Perhaps, Sabine.

Dude,
I officially hate you. The order for my M5 went in in May for ED and I still haven't taken re-delivery of it. I'm on day 173 of waiting to pick it up from my dealer. At least I can be comforted by the fact that I can drive it all through winter in SoCal. Cool car by the way though.
