Fuse tap (fuse location) for radar hookup?

Ok so there are a few threads on this but the fuse numbers are all over the map. I tried 54 today and it didn't work. Will most likely try 48 and then maybe 57? Which one works? Also do you really need to ground it or can it be electric taped off? Thanks in advance for some assistance here.
