Wow I am learning a lot from all of you that have picked up their cars already. I am planning to do ED in March.

After installing the switch 61319204067, does it require any coding in oder to have the rear fog function?

Thanks!

Nope, its already integrated into the car, The button just lets you turn on and off.
I havent done it in my M5, but I had it in my F10 550i, you can turn them on as long as the headlights are also on.
I always had them on, rarely anyone ever tailgated me

I added the Rear Fog Button years ago. It does not require any coding. It's straight plug and play and is great for annoying tailgaters at night.

I installed the switch on my 2013 and the rear fog lights do not come when switched on (except the indicator on the dashboard). I read from owners of other Fxx's that some coding may be required.

Yes the headlights are on. Even with high beams, rear fogs will not turn on. Only the dash indicator. I guess it's possible the bulbs are dead or a fuse blown, will check if coding doesn't work.

What's the procedure? turn off auto lights, headlights manual? then foglight switch?

Gonna check the coding this weekend. Read elsewhere a few others have this disabled by code.

Wish I could be of more assistance. With car off, I simply removed the old switch and installed new one. I noticed when the lights are off either via Auto or manual - the fog light wouldn't turn on. When the lights were on (auto or manual), they would function... No specific sequence with mine...
