Ugly bleak future M5!!! 5 series rear and front look hideous!!

Just seen 540i new 5 series and I loath d the overall change and gosh I can't believe it after 6 years working on a new model they can't come up with anything better than tweaking the front and rear lights!!

I know interior is better but seriously!!

Terrible looking M5 in the near future for sure!
Too bad because I was waiting for AWD!

Looks like our best bet will be a 6 series this way!

Thoughts ?!

Think we're all concerned as I have stated BMW was lazy, and being cheap. This may be the first time in 19 years no BMW will be in my garage. Getting rid of the M4 next year which I tried after the M5. Worse case I will just keep driving the RS and Spyder and my 2011 Escalade for a DD when needed to haul people or stuff. Not a lot of sexy choices in the sedan makes. Love the Panamera Turbo, but not dropping 190k .........

Nothing's ever as good or as bad as we make them out to be in our minds; I'll reserve judgement until I see a new F90 M5 in person. Like Bimmer6 stated, not too many choices out there IMO.

I hear ya bro
What was your experience coming from M5 to M4?!
Just curious since my options seem to be only till 2016-17 model which are palatable!! I live the design of my F10, granted it could have been more aggressive!

Heard exhaust of new M5 is gonna be amazing!
But trust me guys it is hideous!!!

The M5 is great for luxury, but honestly after I got my first
Porsche felt like I was driving a boat. So I sold the M5, and iI sold at the right time. M4 convertible was a steal which I did buyers choice of what ever they call it for three year to hold me over. Fun car, and easy to wheel around .......my big issues is the turbo charging they all sound terrible. The new M5 to me sounds just as bad, and I don't believe in modding exhaust to make a car I dropped 100k on to sound better. That's lipstick on a big, and you know after release they will release the improve version after a year and screw your resale.

I have had 4 Porsche's in four years with zero complaints, so for me the Spyder and RS are my staple cars for a long time.

you are too late my dear, it has been released since long time ^_^ and yes, just a makeup for the new model

regarding the 6 series, it is discontinued, and replaced it with a GT model only

regarding the M5 sound, clips are allover the internet, you can check it

Had a loaner 530i for 4 days..... Enemic and soulless design both in and out....does feel a bit larger inside but those all electronic gauges look like something from the 80's. The iPad on the dash is a design joke...slope the dashboard so that its depth can't hold an integral screen.....really that's the best a design team could come up with?
Even with a 600+hp lump and body kit....there isn't any real wow factor to consider....
I'm back to the Pano next....the redesign is inspired and you feel they actually spent some time considering the design.....BMW has designed awesome cars so you know they have the talent and aptitude.......

Unfortunately I think it's possible this might be the peak for pure combustion engine M5.

Next M5 I am almost certain will be a hybrid, heck, we might still see this engine but with electric motor lol.

The only reason I got a M5 is because it came with a clutch pedal and 4 doors. If they're doing away with manual tranny, then I'm out.

Supposedly a little lighter even with the selectable awd but i really want to see how the new 8 speed transmission performs. I really like the dct so maybe it was a weight savings or cost measure to move away from the dct. I think 600 hp out of the gate seems fine and I see the car as more of a departure, especially with the awd (even with essentially the same engine).

Cosmetic opinions will vary but there is only so much you can do appearance-wise with a good sized sedan. I guess I am more concerned about the performance and price point.

This subject has been beat to death in other threads and other forums. Lol! Sooma where have you been man? I drove the G30 on one of the first days it arrived in the United States back in February.

I'll make this short. As things are projected to come, there is no BMW ///M Model I am currently looking forward to. The new M8 Coupe, M8 Convertible, and M8 Gran Coupe will be nice but will be far out of my price range with an M8 Gran Coupe spilling over $170k USD fully loaded I'm sure, and that's Porsche Panamera Turbo money. The only ///M car I was truly looking forward to was a next generation M6 Coupe that was rumored to be smaller and lighter to be direct competitor to the Porsche 911, but that was only rumor and now the 6-Series is officially discontinued for now. Now the only BMW I am looking forward to is the G20 M340i if it will have a 6MT. If the new M340i doesn't come with a 6MT then I have no plans to buy another BMW in the future. Not even the next M5. As I have posted time again, I can never forgive M for keeping the F10 M5 engine and for using an Auto Transmission in a true M car, the next F90 M5 (I don't consider the M SUV's to be true M Cars).

For the kind of money that an F90 M5 will cost, I'd rather get a used McLaren 12C Spyder at the same price range or a used Gallardo, or build my own project BMW car. However, the new Mercedes E63S AMG looks mighty promising and won't have much difference between it and an F90 M5 besides a Carbon Fiber Roof and a few other minor details. Also don't forget the next generation Mercedes CLS63 AMG will be here next year around the same time the F90 M5 will be ready for purchase, and I heard that Mercedes is doing a complete redesign of the next CLS63, it sounds promising too. Audi also has plans to introduce many new RS models across their line up. An RSQ7 is probably on the way and the next generation A6 will be unveiled soon. Audi will probably bring back an RS6 Sedan to the American Market to compete with the F90 M5 and Merc E63S. Also, keep an eye out for the new 4-door Mercedes AMG-GT, that thing is going to be sexy! But will probably cost as much as a Panamera Turbo or Aston Rapide. Lol! Speaking of the Panamera, if you have deep pockets that new Panamera E-Hybrid is coming out with like 800hp. Times are going to be interesting and with the info we already have with the next F90 M5, it's such a big disappointment in my opinion. Competition is strong and I personally feel there will be better options within the next 2-3 years when the F90 M5 goes on sale.

Ok, I didn't get to keep it as short as I wanted to.
