So a big difference between the two actually. The M6 had significantly less understeer on turn in and could carry more mid corner speed . This is one of the only same day same driver, same track comparo's I've seen vs the two . 1.3 seconds on such a short track is a TON !
Bearing in mind the video above is a non comp pack M5 and it ran a quicker time than the Evo CP car, does this suggest there would be very little in it on a track between a comp and non comp pack F10 M5, as everyone has already stated Anglesey is a very tight technical track, I would have expected the comp pack car to have been quicker than the standard M5 - maybe not though!

It was a different driver and a much cooler day in the Car and Driver , but I was intrigued by this as well . Perhaps the extra power actually hurt the CP car on this tight track .

Who is this guy?
Is this one of the stigs cousins?

I like this guy, especially his feedback. I also like that his reviews are not scripted. The hesitation in his explanations often times means he is really trying to relive the moment and make you understand what he really felt in each car during each lap.
This is how reviewing cars needs to be done. Screw all that hub bub about which car has more gadgets, or just faster from 0-60-0-100-1/4-slalom-8
Keep these coming.

Please read my quote carefully! also quote #7 will give you some idea

and how do you know hes the only one that wished the "m"5 were lighter?

so you should be another one

i would bet at least 70% would like it to be at least 400 lbs lighter.

How do you know at least 70%?

BMW if you asked me failed on many levels with this m5.

many levels.

If you think so why are you driving M5? what's wrong with M3 that you are not swapping?

This review sums up why I wouldn't ever get a GTR. It's really not as involving throttle-wise in the limit as other cars in that price range or below it, and its tendency to push in the corners is unappealing.

Although the M5 is slower, the involvement it demands of the driver to get the most out of it is more rewarding, and at the end of the day, that makes the driving experience more fun.

Stay with M5, you're too obese to comfortably fit in F8X cars.

Can we get back to GTR vs M5 debate. Thanks in advance.

Dave, since some people are concerned about debating M5 vs GT-R and since M5 is not a track car but is a powerful monster let's have fun to see how this fantastic (heavy-big) car treats with GT-R in rolling

That's not even a fair fight. The GT-R would need to get down to the M4 weight to be competitive.

Agreed! BTW, do you think M4 with much less weight (than M5) can keep up with GT-R in rolling???

Well the M4 is 900lbs lighter than the M5 so it should destroy the M5.

But it doesn't have that much power to stand in front of M5
