Still set at 155mph regardless of driver assist package?

Anyway to get that removed? Warranty issue if done aftermarket?

Yes. Only the M Drivers Package moves up the top speed limiter to 189mph. Too bad it doesn't show up as an option in the US Order Guide.

Not sure if warranty on engine is affected by doing this aftermarket.

It really doesn't matter that we have a 155 limit. Where are you going to hit that? Maybe on the track but most people are not going to take their M5 on the track anyway. And most tracks would not have a long enough straight to hit 155 anyway. Maybe the back stretch at VIR but even then it would be on for a brief second before you had to hit the brakes.

Did over 155 in my Porsche. I-5 south. No limiter on that pony. Would like to have it be able to do what it can - whether I use it or not. 155 is possible in many areas of the western USA.

Dinan should come out with a tune that matches BMW's factory warranty and removes top speed limiter and adds a bit more power. Most tunes void the factory power train warranty though.

yes, but for how long did you go over 155mph? a few seconds? I drive I5 often and there are limited areas/times you can even get close to over 120mph.

I've hit over 210mph in my E60 M5 at least 6 times. The deserts roads of the Mojave are a beautiful thing. If I lived anywhere else, there would be no point probably. Can't wait to top out the F10 M5, although I'm sure it won't be as epic without the sound of a screaming V10.
