Compliments on the road

Driving early to work this AM and I see an older guy on a BMW K1600 motorcycle on PCH. We looked at each other and knew it was on. Take off and the bike gets a butt kicking. Next is a 270 degree loop to get onto Newport Blvd and I take it hard in MDM with a small slide and the guy behind me. He catches up at the next light and tells me "I am glad you drive the car the way it's supposed to be driven". That comment coming from someone of his age made my day and I am loving the car more and more.
What compliments are you guys hearing on the road?

Some guy once called me an "idiot" after doing a maneuver similar to yours. Must have been the straight pipes though.

considering his bike can do 0-60 in 3 flat, I guess he needs to ride his bike the way its supposed to be ridden =)

I have pulled on quite a few motorcycles. 90% of the time it is because riders need a lot of practice with launching bikes and it's not the easiest thing to do.
3 sec time is done by a race rider. He definitely tried but I don't think think the skills were there. Now, our cars are much easier to operate and launch.

You should have told her about population apocalypse theory and how you're trying to do the right thing.

After I told her, she will call cops and remember my plate number and Report I was stunt driving on the street.

However, today is a different story. I was driving on a 60km/hr limit road, and I wanted to have some fun gave little bit gas and probably was doing 88km/hr.
Suddenly, a cop caught me up and rolled window down said " I know you were doing 30km over limit but it is a damn sexy car so there is no ticket for you. "
I realized what's the differences between my old x6 and the new 650GC.

I wouldn't worry too much about people calling you in. Usually cops don't take that seriously. I call in people all the time (drunk drivers, people pretending to be police with fake strobes despite having out of state plates, etc.) and I always get the feeling the 911 operator is ignoring me.

+1

Same here in the tri-state area. I called in an a.sshat who was reckless on the highway, almost took out my rear bumper, gave the location and direction of travel, his plate and description and the operator says "stay away from him" without the slightest intention of having him intercepted/ stopped.

Meanwhile, highway patrol will gladly stop you because you are doing 15 over.

Are there any LEOs on here who shed some light on why this is?

I think the LEOs feel safer ticketing the well suited man in the BMW, than the asshat driving like he's on booze and drugs in the F150 with a gun rack.

LEOs are all about avoiding real law enforcement. They put personal safety first rather than public safety first and they rationalize it with the false argument that speeding kills.

There are many studies that show that people who drive 20mph over the speed limit are the safest drivers because they are paying attention.

the other day police told me i am going to kill people, because i accelerated on first gear with my RPi GTM in 30mph zone 0-32 in first gear! f***d my head for 40 minutes

i made a conclusion of his speech: he is jealous c**t

they dont stop foreign plate cars which do 100mph on the upcoming traffic lane in 30mph zone, put it on youtube and you can see they dont stop at pedestrian crossings, when poeple are waiting to cross and they stop me, because i am young wild and free

at least i know my car is loud

V12, let's put a few things into perspective here. The reason I'm replying to you is because you are also from New York. You called 911 to report an asshat that almost took off your bumper.

911 operator: "911 What's your emergency?"
V12: "An asshat is driving recklessly and nearly took off my bumper. He is in a F150 pickup truck and heading south on the West Side Highway."
911 operator:" I'm sorry sir did you say an asshat"
V12: Yes an asshat is driving recklessly."
911 operator: "OK sir, hold on for one second while I talk to the guy on the other line who is getting stabbed to death as we speak."
911 operator: "Sir I'm sorry take your stabbing like a man, I have an asshat on the loose on the West Side Highway, I'll be back as soon as I can. Hold on."
Man being stabbed: "WTF"
911 Operator: "Sir we are on the case, we'll track him down right away, I'm also going to call the attorney General."

Come On!!!!!

That happened on LI.
But let me see if the Nassau County Highway Patrol wants to go in and help with the Hipsters assaulting each other in your neighborhood.

jokes aside, what do you do to someone who comes within 1' og your rear bumper at 60 mph while cutting across 3 lanes? catch up and shoot him in the cojones?

That's a nice sketch. But if the traffic police were all tied up with violent crime emergencies, then nobody would be getting speeding tickets in NYC

I rarely get any positive or negative comments from fellow motorists. People are too busy here to notice a sleeper like my ride and that's just how I like it.

Agreed 100%. It's ridiculous.

I once was busted for not slowing down fast enough from 35 to 25 (guess you're supposed to slam on your brakes inducing ABS just to get to the speed limit) and the guy told me to slow down for the safety of everyone...took all of my self control to not ask him if that was a serious statement.
