Turner muffler delete too loud

I recently replaced my oem exhaust with a turner muffler delete to try and add some rumble to the sound. Did a lot of research and understood the pros and cons. However after the replacement I've come to the following conclusion:
I like the overall tone and rumble but the sound level is extremely high. To the point where it's a bit too much. Acceleration is fine and acceptable but anytime I'm slowing down and downshifting the rumble/drone is excessive. My biggest complaint is the cold start. It's like crazy loud.i understand everyone will have their personal opinion but for me it's close to being obnoxious where it sounds like a complete aftermarket job. My goal was to find something close to OEM sound but with more rumble. With that said I don't want to go back to the old system without looking at options. My question for all of you is if adding a resonator of some kind could take down the volume level about 30%?
Has anyone tried that? Perfect scenario for me is to modify between the oem sound and the muffler delete.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You'll see a good decrease in sound if you replace the stock resonators with aftermarket.

I'm not sure though it will make much difference with the cold starts. I personally had my cold start deleted after going completely straight piped.

Put back on the stock exhaust. Wire open the outside valves and delete the resonator. You will get what your looking for. Something not too loud but a little more rumble with no drone.

I tried wiring open the valve but that made minimal difference. Are saying removing the resonator from the stock will make the difference?

The resonator in the mid section, remove it and replace with a straight 3inch Pipe. Then wire open

Gotcha. That's a good option to think about.

Try either stock exhaust with downpipes (more rasp for sure but tame while cruising) or the comp pack as suggested before. I have a friend that disabled the ASD and found the turner system much more doable on a daily basis.

Yes, disable ASD first to see if its more manageable.

How did you disable cold start? Was that a simple thing and if so do I take the car into BMW for that?
I think the first option for me is to try and disable ASD as @alexlocator suggest and also see about disabling cold start. If none of these work to my satisfaction, I'll go back to stock and tweak per other suggestions.

Thanks

I was flash tuned and through process they turned off cold start.

As for ASD, that will help some with the drone but will not help your cold start. I hardly ever had issues with the drone as I drove in sport plus throttle and D2/3 which kept the car out of that RPM range

Sorry to hear, dude. Start with coding out ASD as that should reduce some of the drone in the cabin.

I would consider getting a flash tune but that might be too invasive for your liking. You need to take out the ECU's and ship them to BPM or Mission Performance in SoCal. Last resort would be to get Eisenmann Sport catback and leave everything else stock (cats and resonators). I had Turner and loved it without ASD, but it would have been way too loud after going catless. I liked Eisenmann Sport wired open with stock cats and resonators but it has proven to be too quiet for my taste. Don't get me wrong, it sounds really good but just lacks volume.

I honestly think if you code out ASD, you will at least find it tolerant in the drone zone (1600-1800 rpm). If still too loud, look into E-sport. It's pricier than Turner but it is super high quality, fits like oem, and has valves.

Text me if you want help coding it...I have a cable I can send you and a few links that will help you DIY.

I was thinking about tinkering with the exhaust - possibly getting a CP or fiddling with the muffler - but last night, drove along my street slowly, one car alarm went off on passing & then on parking (on road - London), the car alarm of the car behind went off & the neighbour ran out of his house, so I think the standard system is socially challenging enough for me !

I am with the OP, muffler delete was obnoxious! I went with the Agency Power Ti system, I love the quality of build, value, look and most of all how nice it sounds - louder with more rumble but none of the drone from a delete or 'race' exhaust. I can start with out anoying anyone at 4am, can hold a conversation on the hands free or just chill in peace - it still sounds great from outside at idle or acceleration.

It's hit it miss with the crowd. I went from turner delete to completely straight piped. After being strict piped, turner is quiet to me. Haha
