Beat New 911 Carrera

I just had to let someone that would appreciate this know what a fun morning I had. I was stopped at a red light when this guy pulled up next to me in a new 911. Had 4 people in my car and only driver in 911. Didn't even know guy in 911 was trying until light turned green and the guy took off like a you know what. I was in all comfort mode with classical music soothing us from the B&O. My emotions got the better of me so I gunned the engine. It took a second for car to realize this is serious since I was in Comfort. Got a little tire spin (always good for a smile!) and reeled him in. Pulled up even with him and pulled away before I had to turn off. Got a big thumbs up for my effort.

What an awesome way to start your day!! Love this car!

On one hand it's cool that your 4,387lbs business sedan beat a designed from the ground up sports car in a straightline race, especially with an extra 1000lbs of weight from 4 people in the car. On the other hand it's not as spectacular of a win since if it was even a 991 Base 911 with 350hp against your 600+hp stock BMW M5, never mind he's sitting pretty at about 3,300lbs with only him in the car, it's really no contest. Power counts much more than weight in a straight line joust.

Something almost as similar happen to me this morning. Driving the beast to work this morning, dude in a 2014 Audi S4. with those distinct LED running lights, comes screaming up behind me like we were on the Nurburgring and he's about to overtake me. Obviously driving like douche, especially since we were still in Virginia and driving like that can land him in jail, so instead I just decided to shift to neutral and rev the heck out of my engine to let him know who's Boss. He slowed down to check out my car and I gave him a thumbs down, I know he saw me and yet he still sped off into the distance like he had 1,000hp. That's a win in my book too.

Yes indeed and the full load helped reduce wheel spin which the M5 is prone to have even under the most delicate of pedal movement.

I have had both cars (albeit an "S" version which beats a non S easily)... I like the less hp car with more control and driveability. But its apples and oranges; nice win to the OP.

More like thoroughbred vs. carnival riding pony-lol

Not much of a contest between these cars. However, my preference is also for less weight and more nimble.
